Patent number: 12578444Abstract: Techniques for determining a phase delay of a received light signal are discussed herein. A vehicle may emit a continuous light signal from a ToF device. The ToF device may include a sensor receiver configured to receive the signal after the signal reflects off surface(s) in the environment. To determine the distance between the ToF device and the surface(s), the vehicle may sample the received signal at two or more offsets and identify regions of overlap between the offset signals and the received signal. The vehicle can determine area measurements of the overlapping regions and use such area measurements to determine normalized amplitudes for each of the overlapping regions and, based on comparing such values, determine linear equation(s) corresponding to the phase delay. The vehicle can evaluate such linear equations to determine the phase delay of the received light signal. The vehicle can be controlled based on the phase delay.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2023Date of Patent: March 17, 2026Assignee: Zoox, Inc.Inventors: Yongzhe Chen, Robert Nicholas Moor, Jonathan Solheim, Shaminda Subasingha, He Yi, Wuyang Yu

Patent number: 12246734Abstract: Techniques are discussed herein for detecting and managing faults occurring within various vehicle systems, to enable the vehicle to respond safely and appropriately to the faults. In examples, a constraint generator may receive sensor data associated with the operation of a vehicle in an environment. The constraint generator may perturb the sensor data to mimic particular sensor faults, and execute simulations to determine performance degradations of the vehicle systems associated with the particular sensor faults. Based on the performance degradations associated with sensor faults, the constraint generator may determine the appropriate constraints with limitations on the operation of the vehicle, and communicate the constraint parameters to the appropriate vehicle systems accordingly.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2023Date of Patent: March 11, 2025Assignee: Zoox, Inc.Inventors: Timothy Henry Jung, Janakan Chandrakumar, Collin MacGregor, Joshua Paul Munic, Matthew Ambrose Romlewski, Aaron Rosekind, Sandra Ruiz, Nehemia Girma Terefe, Nathaniel John Villaume, Darrin Sammons Willis, He Yi

Patent number: 11814070Abstract: Techniques for determining error models for use in simulations are discussed herein. Ground truth perception data and vehicle perception data can be determined from vehicle log data. Further, objects in the log data can be identified as relevant objects by signals output by a planner system or based on the object being located in a driving corridor. Differences between the ground truth perception data and the vehicle perception data can be determined and used to generate error models for the relevant objects. The error models can be applied to objects during simulation to increase realism and test vehicle components.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2021Date of Patent: November 14, 2023Assignee: Zoox, Inc.Inventors: Antonio Prioletti, Subhasis Das, Minsu Jang, He Yi

Patent number: 11740736Abstract: Techniques for implementing and/or operating an electronic device including a display pixel layer, which writes a display image during an active period and continues displaying the display image during a blanking period, and a touch sense layer, which generates a first touch image during the active period and a second touch image during the blanking period. The electronic device further includes a controller that determines a first noise metric indicative of display-to-touch noise resulting during the active period based on the first touch image, determines a second noise metric indicative of display-to-touch noise resulting during the blanking period based on the second touch image, and instructs the touch sense layer to not generate a third touch image during a subsequent active period in response to the first noise metric being greater than a noise threshold and the second noise metric not being greater than the noise threshold.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2019Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Anshi Liang, He Yi, Yang Xu, Paolo Sacchetto, Jun Li, Jingyu Huang, Marc Joseph DeVincentis, Yue Jack Chu

Publication number: 20200004378Abstract: Display-to-touch noise may be perceptible when a touch image generated during an active period of an electronic display of an electronic device is used to determine a touch indication on the display. The electronic device may include a display pixel layer including a plurality of display pixels that write display images to the display during a display active period and continue displaying the display image during a display blanking period. The electronic device may also include a touch sense layer including a plurality of touch sense pixels that facilitate generation of a first touch image during a first display active period and generation of a second touch image during a first display blanking period. The electronic device may further include a controller coupled to the display pixel layer and the touch sense layer that facilitates the reduction or elimination of display-to-touch interference.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 10, 2019Publication date: January 2, 2020Inventors: Anshi Liang, He Yi, Yang Xu, Paolo Sacchetto, Jun Li, Jingyu Huang, Marc Joseph DeVincentis, Yue Jack Chu

Patent number: 9053923Abstract: Methods for fabricating integrated circuits are provided. In one example, a method for fabricating an integrated circuit includes forming etch resistant fill control topographical features that overlie a semiconductor substrate. The etch resistant fill control topographical features define an etch resistant fill control confinement well. A block copolymer is deposited into the etch resistant fill control confinement well. The block copolymer is phase separated into an etchable phase and an etch resistant phase. The etch resistant fill control topographical features direct the etch resistant phase to form an etch resistant plug in the etch resistant fill control confinement well.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 2013Date of Patent: June 9, 2015Assignee: GLOBALFOUNDRIES, INC.Inventors: Azat Latypov, Edward Teoh Kah Ching, He Yi
