  • Patent number: 9915541
Abstract: A system includes a processor configured to receive vehicle information including at least location and fuel level. The processor is also configured to determine a current estimated time-of-arrival (ETA) to an event-associated destination based on travel time from the location. The processor is further configured to determine a fuel-level impact on the current ETA. Also, the processor is configured to provide a remote party update, including the current ETA, responsive to the current ETA deviating from a previous ETA by more than a threshold deviance.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 31, 2014
Date of Patent: March 13, 2018
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Stefan Bankowski, Edward Wehrman, Elizabeth Halash, Kevin Burdette, Heath Williams
  • Patent number: 9529580
Abstract: Methods and systems to update controls in vehicle modules. Updating controls can include downloading an update to a vehicle from a server, upon interruption of the update, sending a download instruction to a proxy operating on a mobile device to resume update download at an offset location, resuming download of the update from the offset location using the mobile device, and sending the resumed part of the update from the mobile device to the vehicle when the vehicle requests an update from the proxy. The proxy can be an application running on the mobile device, which can use cellular or non-cellular communication and be away from the vehicle when completing download of a control update.

  • Publication number: 20150241219
Abstract: A system includes a processor configured to access a map, including pre-designated destinations, each destination having a clue associated therewith. The processor is also configured to provide the clue associated with a first destination. The processor is further configured to track the progress of a user towards the first destination using GPS coordinates. Also, the processor is configured to provide a clue associated with a next destination, once the user has reached the first destination. Further, the processor is configured to repeat map access, clue provision, and tracking until the user has reached a pre-designated final destination.
