    Abstract: A method and apparatus for stimulating the growth of chondrocytes as part of a bone healing process includes a loudspeaker that applies audio frequency acoustic energy to the cells. A 1 kHz square wave at a 20 percent duty cycle is used and it is applied for a period of 20 minutes on each of a series of consecutive day.
