One method includes determining, by a mobile device, a hospitality preference of a user of the mobile device for a particular location, storing the hospitality preference in a memory of the mobile device, and modifying, by the mobile device, an operation of at least one system device associated with the particular location to provide the hospitality preference responsive to a distance between the mobile device and the particular location exceeding a particular threshold.
