Abstract: Disclosed herein are dermal substitutes comprising: fibroblasts positioned in a biologically compatible matrix, the biologically compatible matrix comprising a plurality of protrusions on at least one surface; wherein the plurality of protrusions comprise a length and width sufficient to improve a dermal graft outcome. Also disclosed are methods of treating a skin wound on a subject, the method comprising: contacting a skin wound with a herein disclosed dermal substitute. Also disclosed are methods of preparing a dermal graft for transplantation, the method comprising: culturing fibroblasts positioned in a biologically compatible matrix in a scaffold comprising a plurality of protrusions on at least one surface; wherein the scaffold comprises a plurality of protrusions comprising a length and width sufficient to improve a dermal graft outcome.

Abstract: A physical therapy system that includes an apparatus coupled with a plurality of techniques of use thereof. The physical therapy system includes an apparatus having a body that is manufactured from a plurality of segments. The segments comprising the body are slidably coupled and configured to telescopically move so as to provide a collapsed position and an extended position with further providing of intermediate positions. The body of the physical therapy apparatus has a bottom end and a top end wherein the body has a narrowing diameter from the bottom end to the top end. The physical therapy system further includes preferred techniques of use that include but are not limited to picking up the apparatus, walking around the apparatus, disassembly and reassembly of the system, walking to a plurality of apparatus and reaching for the apparatus. Further techniques include placing a foot on top of the apparatus.

Abstract: In an aspect, provided is an apparatus for sorting cells. The device may include polymer nanofibers treated with gaseous plasma. The nanofibers may comprise at least one of polycaprolactone and collagen. The gaseous plasma may comprise at least one of CF4, oxygen, argon, nitrogen, and air. In a further aspect, provided are methods of sorting cells in a composition. The method may include providing a substrate comprising polymer nanofibers that have been pretreated with a gaseous plasma, contacting the polymer nanofibers with a composition comprising a plurality of cells, and applying a force to the polymer nanofibers. In another aspect, provided are methods of making a device for sorting cells. The method may include applying a composition comprising at least one polymer onto a surface by electrospinning to form polymer nanofibers, and exposing the polymer nanofibers to a gaseous plasma to produce treated polymer nanofibers.
