    Abstract: A method and computer program for calculating proximal and distal ends of an interlaced device before being positioned in a vascular structure are proposed. The method comprises receiving a three-dimensional image of a vascular structure in which an interlaced device with a singularity at a proximal and/or distal end will be positioned. A central line of said structure which defines a direction in which the interlaced device is to be deployed is traced. A point Pd on the traced central line and the local morphology of the vessel are defined, wherein point Pd indicates the point where the distal end of the interlaced device will start to be deployed. A proximal point Pp is calculated using the distal point Pd and the local morphology of the vessel, both having been defined. The proximal and distal ends are calculated depending on if the singularity is at the proximal and/or distal ends.

    Abstract: A method, system and computer program are provided for determining the porosity of a flexible porous structure when it is subjected to deformation. The method performs the following steps by processing representative data of the flexible porous structure: a) generates a first function (Fs) defining how the flexible porous structure changes shape when it is subjected to deformation; b) generates a second function (Fp) defining how a covered surface of the flexible porous structure changes when it is subjected to changes in shape, wherein the second function (Fp) is directly linked with porosity of the flexible porous structure; c) obtains reference porosity values of a reference region (CU-R) of the flexible porous structure in a reference configuration via the first function (Fs); and d) calculates the porosity of at least one deformed region (CU-D) of the flexible porous structure, from said reference porosity values and from the second function (Fp).

    Abstract: The invention relates to a system for the certification of a passive optical network and for the detection of problems and faults in the last fibre legs, which is suitable for use in passive optical networks which, between the OLT device housed in a telephone central office and the user device of ONT, includes optical dividers or splitters which, in the downward direction, distribute the optical signal to all of the users within a tree-and-branch architecture, and in the upward direction, combine the optical signals from all of the ONTs. The system is based on the incorporation of a group of devices known as an OLT emulator and a remote testing unit which are joined to the corresponding wall socket of the telephone central office and user, such that the remote testing unit is positioned facing an OLT in operation, allowing the certification of the last leg of the optical network and the detection of problems and faults in a PON network in operation.

    Abstract: A process for drying brewer's spent grains, so as to obtain a product with moisture lower than or equal to 15% by weight, biologically stable in time, with high nutritional value, commercially profitable, and environmentally safe, the process comprising two phases: the first one is a mechanical pressing operation for diminishing the initial moisture of brewer's spent grains from at least 75-80% by weight, up to a lower moisture value of 70% by weight; the liquid obtained is carried to an effluent treatment plant; the solid obtained undergoes a second phase; said second phase consists of thermal drying, having two sub-phases: during the first one, the product is transported through a hot air current while during the second one, it is transported by an air current at room temperature; this way, a final product with a moisture content lower of 15% or less by weight is obtained.
