  • Patent number: 11964283
Abstract: A lifter bar for a grinding mill includes an elongate structural support defining a longitudinal axis and extending from (i) a first end transverse to the longitudinal axis to (ii) a second end transverse to the longitudinal axis; a plurality of structural plates extending along the longitudinal axis in spaced relation, where each structural plate is transverse to the longitudinal axis, and defines opposed edges. The lifter bar may further include at least two protective plate portions, each protective plate portion being mounted over one set of the opposed edges.

  • Publication number: 20040195801
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a coupling assembly for use with a gooseneck trailer. The coupling assembly comprises a height-adjustment device and a coupler mechanism. The coupling assembly further comprises a locking assembly and a pair of friction fit assemblies. The height-adjustment device within the coupling assembly uses a load-bearing pin to concurrently and/or simultaneously perform two functions, namely permitting adjustablility of the coupling assembly and bearing all, or substantially all, of a vertical load (i.e., withstanding a shear force) provided by an attached gooseneck trailer, any trailer accessories, and any trailer contents. Because the load-bearing pin bears all, or substantially all, of the vertical load by resisting the shear force, conventional reliance upon a friction force to bear the vertical load is substantially eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6234509
Abstract: A device and method for coupling a trailer which has a trailer tongue mount attached to the trailer and a coupler attached to the trailer tongue mount. The coupler has an outer tube assembly, an inner tube assembly slidably received by the outer tube assembly, and a return spring having a first end attached to the outer tube assembly, and a second end attached to the inner tube assembly for drawing the inner tube assembly upwardly toward the first end of the return spring. The inner tube assembly may include an inner tubular member which has a plurality of height adjusting holes, a top end and a bottom end. The inner tube assembly may also include a female coupling member attached to the bottom end of the tubular member. A locking handle assembly may be attached to the inner tube assembly to prevent the coupler from disengaging from the towing vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6111243
Abstract: A system and method for inspecting an image-producing display according to a predetermined footprint is disclosed. The system includes a platform fixed to a first multi-axis positioning unit for supporting the display. A sensing head is disposed in confronting relationship with the platform to detect light produced by the display. The sensing head is carried by a second multi-axis positioning unit. The system also includes a controller having outputs coupled to the respective first and second positioners. The controller is operative to generate control signals for manipulating the respective positioners and arranging the display and the sensing head into one or more relative orientations defining the inspection footprint.

  • Patent number: 4029986
Abstract: An improved spark plug for use in internal combustion engines is effective to produce a plurality of sequential sparks. The spark plug has a metal shell with an insulator member in the metal shell and extending therefrom, as is conventional. The improvement comprises a first electrode which extends from one end of the insulator member and has a free end spaced from a first end of a second or carrier electrode end portion. A first set of a spark discharging surface and a spark landing surface is formed on the free end of the first electrode and on the first end of the carrier electrode end portion respectively. A third electrode extends from the metal shell and has a free end spaced from a second end of the second or carrier electrode end portion. A second set of a spark discharging surface and a spark landing surface is formed on the second end of the second or carrier electrode end portion and on the free end of the third electrode respectively.

  • Patent number: 4023058
Abstract: An improved spark plug for use in internal combustion engines includes a center or first electrode positioned within a spark plug insulator member in a metal shell. An outer or second electrode extends from the metal shell and has a free end portion thereof spaced from a free end portion of the center electrode. An annular spark discharging surface is formed on said free end portion of the center electrode and an annular spark landing surface is formed on said free end portion of the outer electrode with the discharging and landing surfaces being in opposed or facing relation and cooperating to provide a spark in the form of a hollow column. A port is provided in the second electrode and is surrounded by the spark landing surface so that fuel on the opposite side of the outer electrode will be ignited.
