Abstract: A method of writing content through a writing input on a touch screen is provided. The method includes displaying written input content according to a writing input detection and identifying whether there is a proofreading mode control, and when there is the proofreading mode control, entering a proofreading mode, displaying the written input content according to the writing input detection, identifying a proofreading mark in the written input content, and applying an editing content corresponding to the proofreading mark, so as to proofread the written content.

Abstract: Disclosed is a character recognition preprocessing method and apparatus for correcting a nonlinear character string into a linear character string. A binarized character string region is divided into character regions on a character-by-character basis. Upper and lower feature points of each character region are derived, and an upper boundary line, which is a curve connecting the upper feature points of the character regions, and a lower boundary line, which is a curve connecting the lower feature points of the character regions, are generated by applying cubic spline interpolation. Nonlinearity is corrected through adaptive region enlargement by using the maximum horizontal length and the maximum height of the divided character regions.

Abstract: A character recognition apparatus and method based on a character orientation are provided, in which an input image is binarized, at least one character area is extracted from the binarized image, a slope value of the extracted at least one character area is calculated, the calculated slope value is set as a character feature value, and a character is recognized by using a neural network for recognizing a plurality of characters by receiving the set character feature value. Accordingly, the probability of wrongly recognizing a similar character decreases, and a recognition ratio of each character increases.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for inputting characters using a touch keypad with a plurality of keys are provided, in which upon detection of a user's touch on one of the plurality of keys, a character corresponding to the touched key is acquired, a pop-up character set is generated using the acquired character and a character which has been completely input before the user's touch and displayed in an input character display area, and a touch pop-up including the pop-up character set is displayed in the vicinity of the touched key.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for retrieving a label in a portable terminal. The method includes obtaining a label image photographed through a camera, extracting characters included in the label image and recognizing the extracted characters, detecting at least one label including the recognized character from a label database including multiple labels and information on the multiple labels and constituting a preliminary label candidate group including said at least one label, detecting an image characteristic of the label image, detecting at least one label having an image characteristic, which is similar with the detected image characteristic, from the preliminary label candidate group, and constituting a final label candidate group, and providing each of said at least one label included in the final label candidate group and detailed information corresponding to each of said at least one label.

Abstract: A method for creating an animation message includes generating input information containing information regarding input time and input coordinates according to input order of drawing information input through a touch screen; dividing an image containing the drawing information and background information into a plurality of blocks; creating an animation message by mapping the input information to the plurality of blocks so that the drawing information can be sequentially reproduced according to the input order; allocating a parity bit per pre-set block range of the animation message in order to detect an error occurring in the animation message; and transmitting the created animation message.

Abstract: An image correction apparatus and method for eliminating a lighting component are provided. A photographed original image is divided into a plurality of block units to calculate a representative brightness value of each of the divided block units. A background image having the size of the original image is generated using the calculated brightness value and interpolation. A lighting component is extracted from the background image and a lighting component included in the original image is eliminated using the extracted lighting component.

Abstract: A method of providing a blurred image includes receiving a target image to which a blur effect is to be applied; receiving blur effect information for generating the blur effect in the target image; calculating a sum image for respective pixels of the target image; applying a mean filter to the target image by using the sum image based on the blur effect information; and providing a blurred image formed by applying the mean filter.

Abstract: A method is provided for searching a route of a mobile node in a short-range communication environment. A first router to which a mobile node belongs acquires a unique address of the mobile node for communication with the mobile node. The first router determines whether the mobile node travels during communication. When the mobile node travels, the first router broadcasts the unique address of the mobile node to one or more neighboring routers and determines whether the one or more neighboring routers include the mobile node. If a second router, which is one of the one or more neighboring routers, includes the mobile node, the second router performs communication using the unique address without an additional address acquisition process.

Abstract: A method for storing and managing a content-editable Flash file is provided, in which a Flash file is loaded to be edited, data of a predetermined size is loaded from the Flash file, it is determined based on the loaded data whether the Flash file is editable, and editable data is loaded from the Flash file, if the Flash file is editable.
