    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display device capable of improving image sticking improvement capability by expanding an image shift orbit or changing the shape of an image shift orbit using a maximum shift range. An image processor of an OLED display device independently determines a pixel shift amount in a horizontal direction and a pixel shift amount in a vertical direction in consideration of a maximum shift range in each of the horizontal and vertical directions, simultaneously applies the determined pixel shift amounts in the horizontal and vertical directions to shift a source image, and outputs the shifted image.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a display device which can provide optimal luminance and visibility to viewers by considering a viewing environment, a viewing distance and image characteristics in an associated manner and a method for driving the same. The method for driving a display device includes: determining final luminance by applying sensed results of ambient illumination, ambient temperature and a viewing distance from a user in an associated manner; adjusting luminance of the display device according to the determined final luminance; and calculating a weighted average picture level (WAPL) from an input image, calculating a differential gain per gray level according to the calculated WAPL, correcting the input image by applying the calculated differential gain per gray level to the input image and outputting the corrected input image.

The image processing method can include sensing a viewing distance of a user and determining a predetermined viewing distance mode, upon determining that the viewing distance corresponds to a short distance mode, performing blurring processing on four-color data of each pixel of an input image for each color channel by applying a predetermined blurring mask to reduce data of an edge portion of the input image and to output the image, and upon determining that the viewing distance corresponds to a long distance mode, performing sharpening processing on white data of four-color data of each pixel of the input image by applying a predetermined sharpness mask to increase the white data of the edge portion of the input image and to output the image.
