  • Publication number: 20070129192
Abstract: Disclosed is a motor-driven steering system capable of easily adjusting tension. The motor-driven steering system comprises a driven pulley connected to a driving pulley of the motor through a belt, a gear housing for surrounding the driven pulley, a motor housing rotatably connected to the gear housing by means of a hinge shaft, and a guide formed at one side portion of the gear housing. The distance between the driving pulley and the driven pulley is adjusted by rotating the motor housing relative to the gear housing, thereby providing the motor-driven steering system having a simple construction and capable of easily adjusting the tension of the belt.

  • Publication number: 20070102230
Abstract: An electric power steering apparatus for an automobile includes a pinion shaft connected to a steering wheel of the automobile; a rack bar having a ball screw formed on an outer peripheral surface thereof; a motor for generating steering power; a motor pulley positioned on a motor shaft of the motor; a motor pulley housing for enclosing the motor shaft and the motor pulley; a self-aligning bearing positioned between an outer peripheral surface of an end of the motor shaft and an inner peripheral surface of the motor pulley housing; a ball nut adapted to engage with the ball crew via a ball; a ball nut pulley positioned on an outer peripheral surface of the ball nut; and a belt for connecting the motor pulley and the ball nut pulley to each other. The self-aligning bearing positioned on the motor shaft makes it possible to simplify the structure of the belt-type transmission device, reduce the number of components, and decrease the manufacturing cost.

  • Publication number: 20070095603
Abstract: Disclosed is a belt type electric power steering apparatus, the apparatus comprising: a gearbox housing enclosing a rack gear and a ball screw; a motor pulley housing coupled to the gearbox housing and enclosing an electric motor, a belt for transmitting rotational force of the electric motor to a rack bar; and locking washers interposed between bolt heads and the gearbox housing, for preventing loosening of bolts when the motor pulley housing is coupled to the gearbox housing.

  • Publication number: 20070095600
Abstract: The present invention relates to a belt-type transmission. In the belt-type transmission, a rotatable drive shaft is coupled with a drive pulley, and a rotatable driven shaft is spaced from the drive shaft at a predetermined distance. A driven pulley is coupled with the driven shaft, the drive shaft is connected to the driven shaft by a belt, and a tensioner is arranged inside and in contact with the belt. With the invention, the tensioner provided inside the belt contacts the inner periphery of the belt without additional support structure in order to adjust belt tension. This as a result can advantageously reduce the number of parts and simplify manufacturing process thereby saving manufacturing cost.
