  • Publication number: 20060164379
Abstract: A liquid crystal panel includes a plurality of display regions that correspond to the division images. The number of the division images can be set with consideration of the number of lamps covering the display regions. The average brightness of an entire image is compared with the average brightness of the division images so as to vary brightness of each division image according to a comparison result. Light that corresponds to the varied brightness is illuminated to each display region. Therefore, a dark division image is displayed darker and a bright division image is displayed brighter in the image of one frame, thereby enhancing a contrast ratio and reducing power consumption.

  • Publication number: 20060139284
Abstract: A driving method and apparatus of a liquid crystal display device is described. Data from a current frame is compressed and delayed by a frame memory. Compressed data of the current frame and the compressed data of a previous frame from the frame memory are restored. The restored data of the previous frame is compared with the restored data of the current frame to determine a modulated portion for the current frame in accordance with the comparison result. The current frame data is modulated by adding the modulated portion to the current frame data. Only a single frame memory is disposed with in the driving apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20050264516
Abstract: A driving apparatus and method are presented to drive lamps that irradiate a liquid crystal display panel of a liquid crystal display device. A picture implementing period, during which a picture is implemented by the liquid crystal display device, and a shorter, scanning period before the picture implementing period are established. An output power supplied to the lamps to set a reference brightness is determined. A lamp driver changes a duty ratio and/or an amplitude of an AC signal supplied to the lamps to establish the reference brightness during the scanning period. The duty ratio/amplitude of the AC signal is adjusted dependent on the characteristics of the liquid crystal material in the liquid crystal display.

  • Publication number: 20050250240
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for fabricating a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor. Prior to forming an N-type ion implantation region and a first and a second P0-type ion implantation regions, an oxide layer and a nitride layer are sequentially formed on a substrate and are subsequently patterned to form a protective pattern structure with a specific arrangement with respect to a photodiode and a gate structure of a transfer transistor. Afterwards, the gate structure is formed on the substrate. In the existence of the protective pattern structure, an N-type ion implantation process for forming the N-type ion implantation region for use in the photodiode, a first P0-type ion implantation process for forming the first P0-type ion implantation region and a spacer formation process are consecutively performed. A second P0-type ion implantation process for forming the second P0-type ion implantation region is performed thereafter.
