  • Patent number: 7810932
Abstract: Disclosed is a display device adapting a resolution improvement device capable of effectively improving a resolution in a projecting display device and a method thereof. A display device according to the present invention comprises: a light source; an image forming means for forming an image using a light emitted from the light source and an input image signal; a projection means for projecting an image formed in the image forming means on a screen; a displacement means for displacing an image displayed on the screen to be displaced; a driving means for driving the displacement to be moved; and an input signal applying means for applying an input signal to the driving means for the displacement means to be rotated in a predetermined direction. According to the present invention, different images are displayed on a screen periodically. It seems that the greater number of pixels is used than the real number in a sense of sight.

  • Patent number: 7762669
Abstract: A system for improving the resolution of a display device by using human visual characteristics wherein an image can be displayed at a more improved resolution than an actual physical resolution, thereby achieving the same effect as that where the resolution is physically improved. An image signal corresponding to one frame is separated into a first image signal and a second image signal, and a first image and a second image are formed based on the first image signal and the second image signal. The first image and the second image are respectively displayed at a first location and a second location. As a result, a viewer can view the image with an improved resolution.

  • Patent number: 7290884
Abstract: A concept of improving a resolution by using human's visual characteristics is provided. Bu the present invention, an image can be displayed at a more improved resolution than an actual physical resolution, thereby obtaining the same effect that the resolution is physically improved. An image signal corresponding to one frame is split into a first image signal and a second image signal, and a first image and a second image are formed based on the first image signal and the second image signal. Then, the first image and the second image are respectively displayed at a first location and a second location. As a result, a viewer can view the image at an improved resolution.

  • Patent number: 7237902
Abstract: There is provided a projection display device with an angle shifter, in which the picture quality can be improved by reducing a visual pixel gap between an imaging element and a projection lens. The projection display device includes a light source for emitting a light, an imaging element for forming an image by using the light and an input image signal, a projection lens for enlarging and projecting the image on a screen, and the angle shifter disposed between the imaging element and the screen. The angle shifter periodically changes an incident angle of the light enlarged and projected on the screen. The angle shifter includes an angle shifting plate to visually remove gaps between the pixels of the imaging element.

  • Patent number: 5772299
Abstract: An improved optical apparatus for an LCD projector capable of more effectively focussing a light on an LCD panel of a high vision or a wide vision, and achieving a desired wave length and a better contrast of a picture, which includes a second polarizing unit for separating a green component from the visible ray transmitted from the white light source, for polarizing the green component into a P-wave component light, and for evenly transmitting on an LCD panel having a 16:9 format display ratio by correcting a brightness non-uniformity of the P-wave component light; a third polarizing unit for separating a blue component from the visible ray transmitted from the white light source, for polarizing the blue component into a P-wave component light, and for evenly transmitting on an LCD panel having a 16:9 format display ratio by correcting a brightness non-uniformity of the P-wave component light; a color mixer for the red, green, and blue components which are obtained by the first through third polarizing units

  • Patent number: 5673986
Abstract: A light width controller is disclosed including a light width controlling mirror of a refractive index n2, the mirror having: a first surface of an angle a1 with respect to horizontal; a second surface of a different angle a2 with respect to horizontal; and a reflection layer for reflecting light incident on the second surface. The first and second surfaces are not parallel. Light that has passed through a medium of a refractive index of n1 smaller than n2 and then has passed through the first surface is incident upon, and then reflected from, the second surface. Also, an image projector utilizing such a light width controller is disclosed.
