  • Publication number: 20110142039
Abstract: Provided is a packet transfer method for ensuring continuity of packet delivery. The method includes: identifying whether a packet transfer apparatus is connected to a mobile host when requested by a location management apparatus to transfer a packet to the mobile host; reporting to the location management apparatus that the packet transfer apparatus is disconnected from the mobile host when it is identified that the packet transfer apparatus is disconnected from the mobile host; and storing the packet which has been requested for transfer to the mobile host. The packet transfer method can achieve lossless packet transmission by preventing a loss of important packets without the addition of a new common layer, despite intermittent disconnections in a mobile Internet environment.

  • Publication number: 20100232306
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for supporting Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) in a wireless communication system. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a wireless communication system consists of an access router, a bridge, and a base station. The access router allocates a common network prefix to all subscriber stations served by it. When receiving IP multicast data destined for all nodes on the same link, the access router forwards the data back to the bridge. The bridge transmits IP multicast data with reference to an identification cache table (ICT) which includes MAC addresses of each subscriber stations, identifiers for point-to-point connections between the bridge and base station, IPv6 addresses of each subscriber station and valid flags for the IPv6 addresses. The base station provides point-to-point connections to both the bridge and each of subscriber stations.

  • Publication number: 20100091710
Abstract: Provided is a method of providing IP mobility using SCTP (Stream Control Transmission Protocol) signaling in a 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) based next generation mobile communication network. The method of providing IP mobility constructs an IP mobility protocol on an SCTP layer of an interface protocol used between an integrated gateway supporting binding a mobile terminal with a different type network and at least one base station and used between base stations, generates a signaling message for binding the mobile terminal with the network according to the IP mobility protocol, embeds at least a part of the signaling message in the SCTP layer to generate an SCTP packet and transmits the SCTP packet to update binding of the mobile terminal and the network. Accordingly, design and construction of network related equipment and mobile terminal for obtaining IP mobility in the mobile terminal and the network can be efficiently performed and unnecessary overhead can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 7630340
Abstract: In a handover method, a mobile node receives a Layer 2 trigger message; requests information on Layer 3 of a new access router (NAR) from a previous access router (PAR) by using information included in the Layer 2 trigger message and information on an IP address of the NAR and a new Care of Address (NCoA) to be used when moving to the NAR; and performs registration with a Home Agent (HA) of the mobile node and sending binding update to an associated correspondence node by using the NCoA when a Layer 2 handover is occurred. With this configuration, the present invention provides a handover method automatically creating an address using a MAC (Medical access control) address in the mobile IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6).

  • Publication number: 20080043665
Abstract: The present invention relates to method supporting an IPv6 neighbor discovery in an IEEE 802.16 based wireless communication system. More specifically, the invention relates to an IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) neighbor discovery support method in a wireless communication system where all attached subscriber stations share a common network prefix, particularly, in an IEEE 802.16 network using Ethernet CS (convergence sublayer) network. According to the above-described method, a base station manages information on subscriber stations to which the base station provides a service on the basis of an Identification Cache Table (ICT), and performs a process of controlling unnecessary transmission of IPv6 neighbor discovery messages and an IPv6 neighbor discovery proxy function on the basis of the information on the subscriber station.

  • Patent number: 6333704
Abstract: There is provided a coding/decoding system of bit insertion manipulation line code, which has small increase in bit rate and simple configuration and minimizes DC baseline fluctuations by properly coupling the advantages of mBnB code and bit insertion code in a high-speed optical transmission system using AC coupling. The encoding part of the system inserts a bit for minimizing a disparity of m+1 bit block when a disparity with respect to m-bit input information is a minimum value that the m+1 bit block may have, and inserts ‘0’ when it is not, performing pre-coding. Then, the encoding part manipulates a part of the bits of the pre-coded block to make its disparity have the minimum value, compares the disparity of the pre-coded block with a disparity accumulated, and inverts or non-inverts the block, thus carrying out coding.

  • Patent number: 5887040
Abstract: The present invention provides a high speed digital data retiming apparatus, in which, in binary data bits transmitted at a high speed, the data can be retimed in a stable manner, even if there are present a static skew due to a delay difference between the retiming clock pulse and the data and a dynamic skew due to the characteristic variation according to time and temperature. Therefore, the present invention has the following advantages compared with the conventional apparatus. First, periodical and regular external clock pulses are delayed by means of a delaying section, so that system performance is independent of the pattern of data. Second, even if the data phases show a continuous difference (wandering) for more than a certain period of time, an elastic buffer absorbs the wandering, and therefore, no data loss is generated, with the result that the system is not put to a disorder condition.
