Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a clothing treatment apparatus comprising a light emitting part which is arranged to be spaced apart from a filter part and is provided to emit light toward the filter part, and a sensor part provided to detect the light which is emitted from the light emitting part and passes through the filter part, and further comprising a control part provided to detect one or more of whether the filter part is attached or detached or a degree of contamination of the filter part according to the amount of light emitted from the light emitting part detected by the sensor part.
