Abstract: There is disclosed a method and system to provide a wireless terminal online access capability to a system phonebook, such as a WLAN, which calls for instructing the system to start a phonebook application such that for incoming calls the phonebook application commences in response to a phone number identification at the user terminal side and for outgoing calls the phonebook application commences through a User Interface (UI) of the user terminal; and performing a search query of the phonebook database to identify a caller corresponding to a phone number identification of an incoming call and/or at least one of a phone number and person or party of the call to be initiated.

Abstract: A method and system for making profile information of a plurality of users of wireless terminals in a network accessible to the network. A current operational mode of the wireless terminal is determined. The current operational mode is identified by an operational mode name. The wireless terminal identification is used to identify the wireless terminal and/or a user of the wireless terminal. Profile information of the wireless terminal is sent to the network where the profile information includes the operational mode name and the wireless terminal and/or user identification. The profile information is sent by the wireless terminal and the sent profile information is accessible from the network.

Abstract: Calendar display apparatus, and an associated method, displays the calendar display at a mobile terminal operable in a radio communication system. The calendar display includes calendar items retrieved from both a local storage element and from a network-based calendar database. The calendar items are displayed simultaneously. And, calendar items stored locally are exportable to the network database. Analogously, calendar items stored at the network database are downloadable to the mobile station to be stored thereat.

Abstract: A telephone system includes a plurality of telephone terminals wherein a call that is placed from a calling telephone terminal to a receiving telephone terminal is announced by activating a standard ringing indication at the receiving telephone terminal. A data file is provided having a plurality of different ringing indications therein. These ringing indications include a plurality of sound information that are both different from each other and different from a standard ringing tone, and a plurality of different visual information. When a call is placed from a calling telephone terminal to a receiving telephone terminal, the user at the calling telephone terminal may optionally elect to announce the call at the receiving-telephone-terminal using ringing indication that is selected from the data-file, for example sound information that indicates the identity of the calling-users, and/or visual information that indicates the priority of the call.

Abstract: Methods and devices for modifying operational modes in a communication device based on application specific parameters. The operational modes of the communication device are modified by adding the application specific parameters of the application to the operational modes of the communication device. Further, commands may be automatically launched after an operational mode change in a communication device. One or more commands to be automatically launched when an operational mode becomes a current operational mode currently used by the communication device are entered into the operational mode of a communication device of a user. Whether the current operational mode has any commands to be automatically launched is determined. The one or more commands are automatically launched if the current operational mode has any commands to be automatically launched.
