Abstract: A method and system for post-processing of engineered-wood fence pickets or similar fencing components. A post-processing line in the manufacturing factory or facility, or in a post-processing location, includes a special edge-sanding process and apparatus with one or more side sanders to treat the rough edges of the engineered-wood fence picket after sawing. The edge-sanding process produces a smooth side surface on the edges, significantly reduces the number of loose fibers and/or strands, and fills in and/or reduces void spaces. After sanding, the pickets on the belt pass through an apparatus for application of a primer to the processed picket edges. Acutely-angled limited fan sprayers provide complete coverage of the edges with primer at a particular coating thickness required for encapsulation and protection of the fence picket product. The limited fan sprayers may be positioned at varying angles and orientations with respect to the belt and pickets.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of applying a finish or paint coating in a prefinishing or finishing line to a fencing panel or picket that disguises the screen-back texture of the engineered wood substrate. After paint or similar coating is applied (such as by one or more spray nozzles) to a face to a fence picket or fencing product or component, the fence picket passes under a roller, brush, or roller brush or similar paint applicator while the paint is still wet. The roller/brush removes some of the paint and applies an angled pattern to the face, which disguises the screen-back texture of the substrate.

Abstract: An electronic zipper-pull personal safety beacon that is light-sensitive and vibration-activated which includes a decorative housing (22) for the support of: a power source (1) and an electronic circuit (21) further comprising; a printed circuit board, a photoconductive cell (2), a vibration detector (3), and a timer (5) to enable at least one self-flashing light emitting diode (6) for a predetermined period of time.
