  • Patent number: 4338545
Abstract: A magnetron unit is provided with anode cylinder with a number of vanes defining resonance cavities, and a cathode disposed along the axis of the anode cylinder. An axial interaction space into which a magnetic field is developed is disposed between the vanes and the cathode. Provided is a pair of main pole pieces with the interaction space located therebetween to supply the magnetic field into the interaction space. Permanent magnet members are magnetically coupled with the pair of the main pole pieces for supplying magnetic energy to the main pole pieces. The permanent magnet members are magnetically coupled with each other by a yoke. Auxiliary pole pieces are disposed at the top ends of the main pole pieces at a given interval. The auxiliary pole pieces are supported by bimetal members fixed to them. When the temperature of the permanent magnet member, the bimetallic members rises moves the auxiliary pole pieces toward the interaction space.

  • Patent number: 4274005
Abstract: In an X-ray apparatus for a computed tomography scanner, a plurality of combined X-ray tube segments are arranged round the central axis of the apparatus on which a subject to be examined is disposed. The X-ray tube segments each include a large number of electron beam generating means to produce an electron beam, a strip-like target having a surface against which the electron beam strikes and extending along a circular arc round the central axis, and an envelope containing these components. Along the surfaces of the X-ray tube segments facing the central axis lie a large number of X-ray detector elements to detect doses of fan-shaped X-ray beams emitted from the target and transmitted through the to-be-examined subject. The electron beam generating means successively produce electron beams, and fan-shaped X-ray beams are applied one after another to the subject from around the same.

  • Patent number: 4060062
Abstract: A carburetor having a main intake passage for a lean mixture and an auxiliary intake passage for a rich mixture is provided with a choke valve in each passage. A control mechanism for operating the two choke valves includes a lost-motion connection so that the main choke valve is at the first to be moved toward closed position, for cold starting of the engine. For colder temperatures, both choke valves are moved toward closed position, and for very cold starting conditions, both choke valves are moved to fully closed position. The control mechanism may be manually operated or it may be automatic under the control of a bimetal element. When the engine on being started reaches a state of complete firing, with stable RPM, both choke valves are opened to predetermined pull-down angles.
