  • Publication number: 20230198691
Abstract: An Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing digital radio transmitter is arranged to transmit a data packet comprising a plurality of Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing symbols. At least one of the symbols comprises a plurality of demodulation reference signals in a first plurality of frequency sub-carriers of the symbol. The transmitter is arranged to transmit a physical control channel at least partly distributed among a remainder of frequency sub-carriers of the symbol according to a calculated distribution. The transmitter calculates the distribution by arranging the remainder of frequency sub-carriers in a two-dimensional matrix such that said remainder of frequency sub-carriers have indices which are sequential in a first dimension and have a common increment in a second dimension, and allocating a second plurality of the remainder of frequency sub-carriers to the physical control channel sequentially in the second direction.

  • Patent number: 8054796
Abstract: A shared uplink acknowledgment (ACK) channel can be communicated to the payload recipient. The shared uplink ACK channel information can be communicated in the payload message or in a broadcast control channel. Reserving a dedicated time-frequency chunk for these short ACK messages and multiplexing different users to the same time slot with spreading codes having good cross-correlation properties can be used to accomplish such a shared uplink ACK channel.

  • Patent number: 7756096
Abstract: A flexible transmission resource reservation scheme and data transmission scheme is provided for a wireless network. A source node transmits a data transfer reservation request for a transmission resource to at least one neighboring node including at least one target node of the wireless network. The source node may have data to be transmitted or may anticipate data reception from at least one of the target nodes. Then, the source node receives from the at least one neighboring node an acknowledgment to reserve the requested transmission resource for data transfer between the source node and the at least one target node. Thereafter, data is transferred between the source node and the at least one target node within the reserved transmission resource.

  • Patent number: 7042938
Abstract: Method and apparatus for soft bit computation with a reduced state equalizer. The method assures that the number of states in the equalizer is reduced to obtain acceptable complexity, while also ensuring that soft bit computation is performed for substantially all bits. The method involves computing a first set of soft bits from bits transmitted in a received signal, using a reduced-state trellis with finite non-zero delay, calculating hard decisions in response to the received signal, and also ensuring that substantially all soft bits are computed by employing zero-delay soft decision-making or decision-feedback equalization to compute a second set of soft bits. Furthermore, the hard decisions are used to compute the second set.
