  • Publication number: 20220265903
Abstract: A medical device for insertion into a natural or artificial body opening, such as a urinary catheter is described. The medical device comprises a substrate having a wall enclosing an internal cavity that forms a tubular body. The wall extends between a proximal insertion end and a distal rearward end. The wall comprises at least 30 wt % of natural fibers, such as cellulose fibers. One example medical device is, at least to a large extent, made of paper.

  • Patent number: 11162221
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing paper, board or the like. The method comprises obtaining a fibre stock comprising lignocellulosic fibres and adding a retention agent system comprising a cationic synthetic polymer to the fibre stock and forming a fibrous web from the fibre stock and drying the web. Microfibrillated non-wood cellulose is added to the fibre stock as a component of the retention agent system and sequentially with the cationic synthetic polymer.

  • Publication number: 20210330937
Abstract: An extension tube for a urinary catheter comprises a tubular body with an inlet opening, an outlet opening and an internal lumen extending between the inlet opening and the opening. The tubular body comprising at least a first layer, which first layer includes natural and/or regenerated cellulose fibers, and preferably to a large extent, such as at least 40 wt %.

  • Patent number: 7261823
Abstract: The method is for treating a liquid or slurry with an ultrasonic energy. A first rotatable member being permeable to a medium and a first vibrating device are provided. The first vibrating device and the first member have a first gap formed therebetween so that the first gap represents a first distance. A guide member aligned with the first member exerts a pressure on the medium. The guide member breaks up fiber flocculation close to the upper surface of the medium. The medium is fed between the first member and the guide member. The first vibrating device generates pulses through the first member to form imploding bubbles in the medium. The bubbles have a critical diameter prior to implosion that is greater than the first distance to prevent the bubbles from growing in the first gap to a size greater than the first distance.
