  • Patent number: 8327412
Abstract: A method for interference-free, centrally controlled switchover from a first to a second program channel in a data transmission system for distributing encoded program data streams to multiple subscribers includes delivering at least two program data streams, each of which is associated with a separate program channel, to a separate, controllable encoder. The program data streams are encoded in the associated encoders. The encoded first and second program data streams are fed into a distribution network. One encoded program data stream is delivered through a routing device to at least one target subscriber. Control parameters are provisioned in a central control device which permits a synchronized activation of the controllable encoders and at least one switching device for interference-free switchover of the program channels. An interference-free switchover from the first to the second program channel is executed.

  • Patent number: 8161114
Abstract: In a method for transmitting information using a data structure that is defined by the formal language called Abstract Syntax Notation One, the information is transmitted encoded as text. A form of plain-text encoding may generally be used. This enables the use of text-based transmission media, which are in widespread use. Furthermore, it enables fault localization without the use of additional tools.

  • Patent number: 7779369
Abstract: In a method for graphically representing and/or processing values of data types of a formally defined data structure existing as a value tree, a window is assigned as a graphical user interface to the data structure. Generic, scalable, graphical user-interface components are inserted hierarchically in the window, the value tree of the data structure being mapped onto the user-interface components. The graphical user-interface components are in a relation to the nodes of the value tree that is recognizable to the user. A graphical or textual representation of the value is selectable for each subtree of the value tree.

  • Patent number: 7729615
Abstract: A method for transmitting signaling and control information for wavelength-division multiplex networks for optical, fiber-bound information transfer in digitized form, the signaling and control information being transmitted via the same optical channel, particularly with the same wavelength, as the useful information, but being encoded and decoded independently thereof, with the result that the control and signaling information can also be accessed independently of the useful information. The use of a time-division multiplex method allowing the different encoding of useful information and control information makes it possible considerably to reduce the technical complexity of passive optical network elements with regard to the routing of the signaling and control information. This method permits the simple, low-cost and transparent transmission of signaling and control information in the optical WDM network.

  • Publication number: 20090285373
Abstract: A method for reducing bandwidth when transmitting data between a sending terminal and a receiving terminal over a voice connection path using a digital data network. The coding of user information is converted within the digital data network between data transmission in the voice connection path and data transmission in the digital data network so that the user information is transmitted on one section of the digital data network via the coded voice connection path and the user information is transmitted on another section of the digital data network using a method suitable for the digital data network.

  • Patent number: 7409049
Abstract: A network-based verification of call connections is provided between a telecommunications subscriber terminal and a telecommunications service device selected by a service call number. This verification provides a way of enabling secure protection against an undesired selection of a service device and/or the selection of an undefined service device. A system and a method are provided in which during a call set-up, the selected call number is evaluated on the basis of at least one service call number stored in a communication network and/or at least one service call number area.

  • Patent number: 7110746
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for providing locality information in a plurality of switched networks of different network types. The method includes transmitting network-specific information of a caller via a signaling protocol of a service logic located on a service platform. Using the transmitted network-specific information of the caller, a current locality information of the caller is determined by a network-specific location information server. The current locality information is provided in a uniform manner outside of the signaling protocol.

  • Patent number: 7107492
Abstract: A method for analyzing transmitted protocol data units of a protocol for communication between two object request brokers to obtain a representation of messages included in the transmitted protocol data units includes collecting and correlating incomplete sets of information derived from the individual protocol data units for respective objects, and obtaining, from a plurality of necessary conditions, an adequate selection criterion for an interface definition to be used in a decoding operation. The decoding operation is performed using an initialization phase, a learning phase and a decoding phase. The initialization phase includes forming at least one list of possible interface definitions. The learning phase includes introducing exclusion criteria for reducing a number of the possible interface definitions so as to uniquely determine which interface definition underlies a first object. The decoding phase includes decoding a first message transmitted from or to the first object.

  • Publication number: 20030033560
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for analyzing transmitted protocol data units, especially of the General Inter ORB protocol, comprising three phases in the General Inter ORB decoder in relation to a single object—an initialization phase, a learning phase and a decoding phase—so that the messages contained can be represented as completely as possible. In the initialization phase, lists of all possible interface definitions are established. These lists are stored specifically for a particular host, a particular agent or an agent-specific destination address. In the learning phase, exclusion criteria are used to reduce the number of possibilities, although the evaluated message cannot yet be decoded definitively. There are still more than one interface definitions that may form the basis of a particular object. Once it has been determined which interface definition the object is based on, the message sent from or to the object can be decoded in the decoding phase.

  • Publication number: 20020193123
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for providing and processing locality information in switched networks (1 to 3). The aim of the invention is to overcome the problem of conventional switching methods of connections, whereby said methods depend on the origins. A uniform method which is compatible with conventional network architectures is provided for providing information on locations. The existing signalling protocols which are partially standardised do not require modifications. Different networks (1 to 3) can be interconnected by means of different methods for determining co-ordinates and in a particularly simple manner and a service extending beyond one network is possible by virtue of the selected architecture and the separation during transmission of signalling information and geographic co-ordinates.
