  • Patent number: 11251822
Abstract: An example method of operating a radio system includes receiving, over a receiver-path, an RF input signal from an antenna, and converting the RF input signal to fall within a pre-defined frequency range using a local oscillation signal. The method further includes processing the converted input signal with a standard filter. In some examples, the method further includes generating the local oscillation signal in a transmitter path of the radio system.

  • Patent number: 11212016
Abstract: An example method of calibrating signals in an antenna array includes generating a calibration signal at a first radio sub unit (RSU), transmitting the calibration signal through a transmission path of a radio front end (RFE) of the first RSU, and receiving the calibration signal in a coupling and distribution layer of the first RSU. The method further includes providing the calibration signal from the coupling and distribution layer of the first RSU directly to a coupling and distribution layer of a second RSU, and processing the calibration signal at the second RSU.

  • Publication number: 20110249599
Abstract: The invention relates to a RF front-end stage for user equipment that is designed for use in multiple communication bands and employs Frequency Division Duplex (FDD). The invention also relates to a FDD front-end module included in such a RF front-end stage. The object of the invention is to provide an RF front-end stage for user equipment that supports a plurality of operating bands and may be produced both at lower costs and with a reduced number of circuit element devices. This object is achieved with a FDD front-end module for a RF front-end stage of a FDD user equipment that supports at least two operating bands each comprising an uplink frequency sub-band and a downlink frequency sub-band wherein at least one of the uplink frequency sub-bands and the downlink frequency sub-bands of said at least two operating bands are not adjacent to each other.

  • Patent number: 7394027
Abstract: A high frequency multi-layer printed circuit board, according to the present invention, comprises a through connection having an impedance adapting structure surrounding the through connection and enabling an adjustment of the characteristic impedance of the through connection to a desired value. Thus, high frequency signals may be led through the printed circuit board with reduced signal deformation. The high frequency multi-layer printed circuit board is applicable for high frequency signals up to the GHz-range.

  • Patent number: 7098860
Abstract: A printed dipole antenna comprises bent dipole arms connected to respective feed lines formed on opposed surfaces of a substrate. In one particular embodiment, the dipole antenna is provided as a folded dipole, including two or more connector lines to provide an increased frequency range. Two of these dipole antennae may advantageously be combined to an antenna system having a superior radiation characteristic in that the two dipole antennae are arranged to have a different orientation. A corresponding circuitry may then select the antenna, which provides superior operation at a given time.

  • Patent number: 7064717
Abstract: A monopole antenna, a monopole antenna system and a data communication device are disclosed in which a high isotropic radiation characteristic is achieved with a minimum substrate area occupied by the antenna. To this end, a substantially T-shaped monopole design is used, wherein end portions of one of the resonating paths are oriented in conformity with respective edges of a substrate.
