  • Patent number: 9187121
Abstract: For stabilizing a vehicle, a steering angle of at least one steered front axle and/or additional axle is changed by automatic forced steering Additional drive stabilization is achievable by initiating an adjustment of a changed steering angle of the steered front axle and/or additional axle in response to a tilting tendency of the vehicle recognized via a tilt-stability control device as above a tilt limit, in addition to initiating a vehicle delay for reducing this tilting tendency. This counteracts an understeering or oversteering influence of the vehicle delay Additionally or alternatively, additional drive stabilization is achievable by determining the direction of movement in the wheel contact point of an additional axle wheel on the steered additional axle relative to the vehicle's longitudinal axis and adjusting the steering angle of the steered additional axle based thereon to reduce the drift angle of the additional axle wheel relative to its direction of movement.

  • Patent number: 9135219
Abstract: In a method and a device for controlling a driver assistance system of a vehicle, a process is carried out which includes the steps of emitting light of at least one wavelength onto a road surface under the vehicle, detecting the light reflected by the road surface, acquiring at least one piece of information on the nature of the road surface using the detected reflected light, transmitting the information on the nature of the road surface to the driver assistance system, and modifying at least one parameter of the driver assistance system such that the driver assistance system reacts depending on the nature of the road surface.

  • Patent number: 9110091
Abstract: A method and device are provided for determining the installation position of a sensor module in a vehicle—namely, for determining whether the sensor module has its longitudinal axis oriented longitudinally or transversely. The sensor module has a longitudinal acceleration sensor for measuring a longitudinal module acceleration in the direction of the longitudinal axis and/or a transverse acceleration sensor for measuring a transverse module acceleration transversely with respect to the longitudinal axis. To this end, while the vehicle is travelling, a measured longitudinal module acceleration and/or a measured transverse module acceleration is compared with a longitudinal vehicle acceleration and/or a transverse vehicle acceleration ascertained in another way. By the comparison, at least one degree of conformity is ascertained, which represents the conformity of a measured module acceleration with a calculated vehicle acceleration.

  • Publication number: 20130103274
Abstract: The description relates to a method and a device for controlling at least one driver assistance system (82, 84, 86, 88) of a vehicle (60). The method comprises the following steps: emitting light (11) of at least one wavelength onto a road surface (1a) under the vehicle (60), detecting light (21, 31) of the at least one wavelength reflected by the road surface (1a), acquiring at least one piece of information (100) on the nature of the road surface (1a) using the detected reflected light (21, 31) of the at least one wavelength, transmitting (200) the at least one piece of information on the nature of the road surface (1a) to the at least one driver assistance system (82, 84, 86, 88) and modifying (300) at least one parameter of the at least one driver assistance system (82, 84, 86, 88) such that the at least one driver assistance system reacts depending on the nature of the road surface (1a).
