  • Patent number: 11920658
Abstract: A rack steering system and a motor vehicle having such a rack steering system. The inventive rack steering system comprises a steering gear housing, a toothed rack, which extends through the steering gear housing, an electric motor, which is coupled to the toothed rack on a thread side of the steering gear housing via a ball screw to provide an axial force to the toothed rack, and two track rod links arranged at axial ends of the toothed rack. The steering gear housing is designed in one piece such that a drive insert opening is formed on the thread side of the steering gear housing for arrangement of the electric motor and a direct stop face for a track rod link or a support face for the arrangement and axial support of a separate stop element for a track rod link is also formed on this thread side.

  • Patent number: 6635105
Abstract: The invention relates to an electrostatic precipitator for collecting liquid or solid particles from a gas stream. The electrostatic precipitator consists of a tube (1), through which the gas to be cleaned flows longitudinally, the internal wall (1A) of the tube forming a precipitating electrode for the particles to be collected. An internal electrode (2) extending in a lengthwise direction is disposed concentrically inside tube (1), a high electrical voltage being present in the space between this internal electrode and the precipitating electrode. On the inlet side, internal electrode (2) has a first section (2A) with a small cross-sectional area, and on the outlet side, a second section (2B) with a comparatively larger cross-sectional area. The function of the first section is essentially to form a corona while that of the second section is essentially to form an electrostatic collecting field.

  • Patent number: 6599144
Abstract: The invention relates to an electric contact array having two contacts between which an electrically conductive connection exists, wherein the contact array is watertight and dust-tight, wherein the contacts are disposed in a sealed area. According to the invention, two sealing elements are disposed at a distance from one another in order to seal the sealed area. A test area is provided between the sealing elements, said test area having a hole that enables access from the outside.

  • Patent number: 6348103
Abstract: A method for cleaning a two-stage emission electrode of an electrofilter suitable for use with an internal combustion engine, whereby a cleaning body moves along the emission electrode to strip it of deposits. Only the first stage of the electrode is cleaned by the cleaning body.

  • Patent number: 6173859
Abstract: A filter housing has a pot-like base, a lid that closes the base in a pressure-tight manner, one or several additional elements such as pipes, flanges or the like, which are connected to the wall of the base in the area of the seal between base and lid, and at least one rib which extends radially around the base in this area. The rib has varying dimensions around the circumference of the base and a reduced cross-section in the area in which the additional elements are connected to a wall of the base. The lid and base are directly screwed together by means of matching threads and the variable cross-section of the rib ensures a practically identical rigidity of the base against inner pressure stresses all around its circumference.

  • Patent number: 6090283
Abstract: A fluid filter for liquid media with a removable filter insert and a drain opening having a spring-loaded closure element associated therewith. The closure element is held by the filter insert in a closing position that seals the drain opening, and separates from the drain opening when the filter insert is loosened or is removable. The spring is designed as an elongated spring having a U-shaped design.

  • Patent number: 5934261
Abstract: In an oil separator designed as an electrostatic filter with a one-piece discharge electrode and a collecting electrode, said separator being located in the vent line of a crankcase ventilation system for an internal combustion engine, the invention proposes that the spray electrode be made in two stages, with a first stage having a small cross-sectional area and a second stage having a cross-sectional area that is larger than that of the first, and with the spray electrode tapering from the cross-sectional area of its second stage to the smallest cross-sectional area of its first stage, and with the first stage being made in the shape of a cone and having a base that adjoins the second stage and a freely terminating tip.
