Abstract: For sorting items out of waste material, a system is provided including a conveyor for transporting waste material, a detector for identifying and locating items of the waste material on the conveyor, at least one depositing area along the conveyor, at least one robot along the conveyor; and a control circuitry communicating with the detector and with the robots. The control circuitry is arranged for controlling the robot or at least one of the robots to pick-up located items of the waste material on the conveyor and to deposit picked-up items at the at least one depositing area. A method for sorting items out of waste material is also disclosed.

The conveyor loop (2) includes an array of pins (7) and connections (8, 9) interconnecting the pins (7) and an array of carrier beams (10) each extending transverse to the array of pins (7) and connections (8, 9). A side barrier (11) above and along a side of the transport deck (5) for restraining bulk material from moving laterally off the is formed by an array of side barrier plates (24; 124). The side barrier plates (24; 124) are each fixedly connected relative to axes (35) of a pair of the pins (7). Leading and trailing ends (36) of successive side barrier plates (24; 124) are in at least close proximity of each other.

Abstract: A waste paper sorting conveyor for sorting waste paper from waste cardboard has a sorting bed formed by a row of rotatable, driven shafts mutually spaced in a conveying direction and each extending transversely to the conveying direction. The shafts each carry a row of impellers for intermittently urging material on the sorting conveyor upward and in the conveying direction. The impellers of each of the rows are mutually spaced in longitudinal direction of the respective shaft. Rotary contours of impellers carried by each of the shafts project between rotary contours of the impellers carried by a neighboring one of the shafts. Since the mutual spacing of the impellers of at least one of the rows in longitudinal direction of the respective shaft is adjustable, waste paper and waste cardboard mixtures of varying compositions can be sorted to an improved purity.

Abstract: During the pressing of bales in a baler, a portion of a press channel in front of a retracted press ram is in each case completely filled with material to be compacted. During compacting, the pressure forces exerted on the press ram have a resultant which intersects the side of the press ram directed in pressing direction below the center thereof or below the center of the press channel section at the location of that side of the press ram. The press ram shows less tendency to tilt, as a consequence of which the press ram guide is less loaded and less friction occurs between the press ram and the press channel. As a result, the bale is compressed more properly and the press ram guide wears less.
