  • Patent number: 5943845
Abstract: Process for packaging compact discs (CD's) in CD boxes, in which process a CD box, with a lower side and a lid held thereon in a swingable fashion, is opened, a booklet is inserted into lid of the box, and the box is closed by a swinging back of the lid, characterized hereby, that the booklet and the lid are temporarily pressed firmly against each other during the swinging back of the lid, so that a slipping of the booklet with respect to the lid during the closing is prevented, as well as a device, in particular for carrying out such a process.

  • Patent number: 4747905
Abstract: An apparatus for labelling tape cassettes which are being conveyed in an upright condition on a straight essentially horizontal path between label applying devices on each side of the path characterized by each of the label applying devices having the arrangement for providing strip labels to a label holder of the device and an arrangement for aligning each of the strip labels on the holder in the exact application position. One embodiment of the invention has each of the label applying devices include two rotatable turrets with one turret applying the strip label at a different height on the cassette from the other turret. In another embodiment, a single turret has two strip label applying stations which apply the label at different heights on the label holder so that two strip labels are applied on each side simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 4685277
Abstract: A method for introducing a compact disk into a compact disk box which has a lower part and a lid joined together by a hinge connection characterized by inserting a booklet into the lid where it is retained by lateral noses extending from an inner surface of the lid, inserting a sheet of text material into the bottom part, inserting a tray onto the sheet of material and then inserting a compact disk onto the tray. The invention is also directed to an apparatus having a turret with a plurality of box holders spaced radially from the turret and with work stations with the same spacing so that as the turret is rotated through a segment of an arc it presents one work holder successively to each of the stations.

  • Patent number: 4523422
Abstract: An apparatus for introducing tape cassettes or the like together with supplements into hinged boxes including a turret which is arranged to rotate step-by-step about a horizontal axis and containing holding means for the hinged boxes. The hinged boxes are fed from below into one of the holding means in a hinged box insertion station which lies essentially vertically below the axis of rotation of the turret. In a cassette and supplement insertion station lying essentially horizontally in the plane of the axis of rotation of the turret, tape cassettes and supplements are supplied and inserted into an at least partially opened hinged box. An ejection station is positioned essentially horizontally in the plane of axis of rotation of the turret and is offset by approximately 180.degree. relative to the cassette and supplement insertion station. The holding means comprise two pivotal flaps which can be selectively brought into different positions in the various stations.

  • Patent number: 4302277
Abstract: A device for labeling flat objects, such as compact cassettes, video cassettes or the like with a supply stacker for the transfer of label holder-arranged labels. The label holders are provided with vacuum impingeable suction bores for label transfers and with object recess-and label perforation-and border-matching beveled projections, plus a device for effective label adhesion. The device includes a radially-mobile arrangement of label holders on at least one step-by-step revolving rotary-run head. The holders move from the head to stationary functional stages, namely, a transfer stage, where the label is made to stick, and an applicator stage for applying labels to objects. A conveyor chain is provided for continually passing by the rotary-run head with object sliding cams. The applicator stage is equipped with a platform for lifting objects from the continuous-run conveyor chain above the level of the cams.

  • Patent number: 4201027
Abstract: Device for inserting tape cassette or the like and enclosures particularly into hinged boxes, having devices for feeding the boxes, for opening the boxes, for feeding and inserting the cassettes and enclosures into the open boxes and for closing and pushing out the filled boxes and having a revolving head with holding devices for the boxes. The holding devices for the boxes are arranged at the periphery of the horizontally revolving head and the holding devices hold the boxes tangentially to the periphery of the revolving head. The axis of rotation extends horizontally from the cover and bottom of the boxes and is directed tangentially to the periphery of the revolving head. The holding devices have non-stationary devices rotating together with the revolving head for opening and closing the boxes during the rotation of the revolving head.
