  • Patent number: 4356419
Abstract: Apparatus for fastening an air gap winding for electric machines having a large power rating, such as turbo generators, including a stator lamination stack formed of magnetic lamination segments, a mounting body formed of non-magnetic lamination segments having teeth with slots formed therebetween, the mounting body being welded at a seam to the stator lamination stack to form common lamination segments, winding bars being held in the slots and extending beyond the teeth into the mechanical air gap, pressure strips disposed in longitudinal direction of the slots pretensioning the winding bars in radial direction, clamping screws being radially disposed in the vicinity of the slot teeth and holding the pressure strips, and abutments anchoring the clamping screws in the vicinity of the stator lamination stack.

  • Patent number: 4228375
Abstract: Device for bracing an air-gap winding in a stator of an electric machine wherein individual winding bars are secured between a radially outer stack of stator laminations and a radially inner nonmagnetic support cylinder, includes spacer wedges disposed between respective pairs of the individual winding bars in circumferential direction, at least some of the spacer wedges being in the form of mounting wedges having dove-tailed extensions received and braced in corresponding recesses formed in the stack of stator laminations at the inner circumference thereof, and the remainder of the spacer wedges being in the form of tightening wedges having tangential bracing means includes at least one flexible tube subjectible to internal pressure, and radial bracing means similarly includes at least one flexible tube subjectible to internal pressure.

  • Patent number: 4179635
Abstract: Device for bracing a stator winding disposed in the air gap of a synchronous generator and inserted into radially inwardly opening slots formed in a hollow cylindrical holding member of non-magnetic steel received in a central bore formed in a stator lamination stack and radially supported by an inner hollow cylinder formed of synthetic material, the holding member and the hollow cylinder being subdivided axially in accordance with the stator lamination stack for forming radial cooling slots, the improvement therein including the sections of the hollow cylinder being centered at the teeth disposed between the slots formed in the holding member and being flattened in vicinity of the individual winding slots, and including wedges of insulating material extending in axial direction of the generator in sections according to the axial subdivision and disposed between the hollow cylindrical sections and the radially inner winding bars of each slot.

  • Patent number: 3975655
Abstract: In order to support the coil ends of liquid-cooled stator windings of turbo generators or the like, the coil ends or conductor bars are disposed between a support ring and segment-shaped cover plates. The support ring and cover plates extend about complete circumferences and the conductor bars of the coil ends are rigidly clamped against the support ring by means of clamping bolts which engage the cover plates and the support ring.
