  • Patent number: 7004327
Abstract: A separating apparatus for the sink and float separation of a mineral raw material according to density using a liquid. The separating apparatus includes a rotatable drum including a plurality of sink-product pockets for discharging a sink product of the mineral raw material. The apparatus also includes a raw material inlet for delivering the raw material into the liquid bath, a first liquid inlet and first liquid outlet including an overflow disposed at a top level of the liquid bath, and a second liquid inlet and second liquid outlet. The separating apparatus also includes a front deflecting barrier and a rear deflecting barrier, each projecting into the liquid bath from above and disposed over an entire width of the liquid bath. In addition, a method for the sink and float separation according to density of a mineral raw material using a liquid.

  • Patent number: 6823607
Abstract: A plant for the drying and treatment of a pourable mineral material. The plant includes a combustion apparatus, introducing smoke gases into a rotary-driven rotary drum for cocurrently with the pourable mineral material. The rotary drum is inclined in the conveying direction, has installed fittings on the inner circumference and is connected sealingly at its outlet end to a shaft. The installed fittings in a front introduction region of the drum are transport blades. The shaft is put under a vacuum by means of a fan and is set up to take over the material and gas stream emerging from the rotary drum. A Venturi fitting is arranged coaxially in the rotary drum, upstream of the outlet, and a bypass for conveying air is arranged in the drum casing in the introduction region.

  • Publication number: 20040164002
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the sink and float separation of mineral raw materials, particularly coal, according to density by means of a liquid, particularly a dense medium. The device comprises a separating container (1) with a cylinder (2) arranged in a rotatable manner therein for extracting the sunken items. The separating container comprises inlets (6; 10, 11) for the liquid and for the raw material which is to be separated, in addition to at least one outlet (12, 13) for the liquid, and one overflow (13) for separating the floating items. The inlets and outlets (10, 11; 12, 13) are arranged in a parallel position with respect to the axis of rotation of the cylinder (2). According to the invention, at least two respective inlets and outlets (10; 11; 12, 13) are provided for the liquid, being arranged, respectively, opposite each other in pairs on a specific height.
