  • Patent number: 5259572
Abstract: A vehicle with its own traveling gear for towing an aircraft without draw tongue, has a U-shaped chassis frame recess that is open in the forward direction with a clamping and lifting device arranged therein for the nose wheels of an aircraft. The clamping and lifting device, which is oscillatingly suspended on the chassis frame 1, includes a pivoting and lifting ramp 8, as well as two parallel telescoping arms 10 arranged rigidly on the pivoting and lifting ramp 8, with telescoping cylinders 11 and with gripping arms 14, which can be pivoted in and whose nose wheel contact surfaces 18 are rigidly attached to the gripping arms 14, and of telescopingly adjustable holddown devices 12, 13, which are hinged to the support 7.FIG. 3 shows the clamping and lifting devices with the nose wheels 17 lifted.

  • Patent number: 4564241
Abstract: A device for extending flexible power supply lines for mining machines which are guided on a conveyor structure and moved back and forth along a longwall by means of a traction element which includes a coal strand and a return strand extending with an enclosed space comprising a housing secured to the conveyor and enclosing a load strand. A return and a cable channel is alongside the load strand channel, with the flexible supply lines being stored at the ends of the longwall towed along by a mining machine through the cable channel. The housing is secured to the conveyor structure and open at one side, and an idle roller is mounted in the housing in the cable channel. The supply lines are supported on the idle rollers. The mining machine is moved by a traction element and the supply lines bear against the traction element at the open side of the cable channel.

  • Patent number: 4555142
Abstract: A hydraulic-mechanically operating mine working machine includes a multi-part sword engaging a mine longwall conveyor from below. The machine is pulled by a traction rig disposed on the stowing side of the longwall conveyor, which is supplied from the drift with the liquid media needed for cutting and for control purposes via drag lines accommodated in a special duct on the stowing side. The connection between the drag lines arriving on the stowing side and the working machine at the adit end is established by way of a hose hookup block connected with the tractor hookup block, the tractor hookup block and the sword of the working machine engaging the longwall conveyor from below.

  • Patent number: 4367902
Abstract: A tool for cutting a material along a path with a liquid jet directed onto the material for hydromechanical or hydraulic mining or for cutting mineral or bituminous material is disclosed. The tool includes a housing having an interior chamber with an opening adjacent the chamber. A nozzle body is mounted to the housing through the opening for swiveling motion about a swivel axis. The nozzle body has a first portion including a cylindrical stem symmetrically disposed about the swivel axis within the chamber and a second portion extending through the opening including a nozzle having a nozzle bore for discharging the liquid jet. A drive, operatively connected to the first portion, is provided for swiveling the nozzle body about the swivel axis.

  • Patent number: 4239290
Abstract: A hydromatic planer particularly for mining materials in a mining seam comprises a planer housing which advantageously has a cutting and breaking head on each end thereof, each of which includes a substantially identical construction. Each cutting head includes a vertically arranged support member which is mounted on the housing of the planer by a parallel linkage so that it may be moved upwardly and downwardly under the control of an adjustment means such as a fluid pressure operated piston and cylinder combination. Each cutting and breaking head also includes a first substantially vertically arranged support member which is connected by the linkage for upward and downward movement relative to the housing and a second support member which is movable relative to the first and mounted on this first in vertical guides for upward and downward movement.

  • Patent number: 4181363
Abstract: A mining method for cutting away hard mineral materials of a mining face, comprises, undercutting the mineral material by directing a liquid jet into the running face to form a mineral slab which overlies the undercutting and breaking the bond of the slab from the main face by striking it with a wedge-shaped impact tool in the undercut area and conveying away the broken-off material. The apparatus for carrying out the mining operation comprises a machine which is adapted to run along the mining face alongside a conveyor for conveying away the material. The machine includes an operating mechanism for moving a breaking head at each end inwardly into the mine face and along the mine face. The breaking head carries a percussion wedge member which may be driven into the mine face.
