  • Patent number: 4429616
Abstract: A device for transporting ammunition, especially cartridges and the like, from a fixed magazine to a top-mounted gun is disclosed. The ammunition is brought to a charging position, in which it is substantially coaxial to the axis of bore of the gun, by utilization of a lift mechanism which is swingable about a horizontal axis by being pivotally mounted at one end to a part which is rotatable about the lateral alignment axis of the gun, while the other end of the lift mechanism includes a cartridge holder. The gun itself is adjustable as to elevation and is operatively connectible to an armored dome of a protective armor, with the dome being adapted to rotate about its vertical axis. The ammunition is stored parallel to one another and to the axis of bore of the gun in the fixed magazine beneath the protective armor. The device includes a stand-by magazine locatable between the fixed magazine and the gun, with the stand-by magazine being connectible to the dome at the rear thereof.

  • Patent number: 4417499
Abstract: A weapon mount for a weapon on an armored vehicle, wherein the weapon is mounted above the roof of the vehicle and the weapon is adjustable both as regards azimuth and elevation, and has a symmetrically arranged magazine. The weapon mount is provided with trunnion arms which engage the trunnion of the weapon, is connected to the rotatable inner race of a bearing disposed in the vehicle roof which bearing supports the turret roof and provides the azimuth alignment, and is supported with its lower one-piece end in a support bearing disposed at the floor of the vehicle. The support bearing is arranged coaxially with the azimuth bearing in the vehicle roof and the section of the weapon mount which is disposed in the vehicle between the two superposed bearings is non coaxial with the bearing and generates a surface of revolution when the mount is rotated about the bearing axis, i.e., the section of the bearing mount either has an oblique longitudinal axis or has a bend in it.

  • Patent number: 4238089
Abstract: An aiming and guiding device for remote controlled, jet propelled projectiles. The device is arranged on an armor plating. The aiming portion of the device comprises a launching stand, and a guiding portion, which is azimuthally pivotally mounted in the armor plating, has an optical sight for picking up and tracking the target, as well as a position-finding apparatus which serves for the remote control of the projectile in the direction of the target and is fixedly assembled with the optical sight. Both of these parts of the guiding portion are accommodated in a single housing. The housing has an entry window for the optical axes of the sight and position-finding apparatus, which axes are oriented parallel to one another, as well as a common head mirror. After the projectile has been launched, the housing is movable independent of the launching stand. The head housing is arranged on the azimuthally pivotal support housing during the initial target approach of the projectile.
