  • Patent number: 5346374
Abstract: A rotating spiral pump comprises a housing in which two displacement disks are rotatably disposed. The two displacement disks are provided on one side with ribs that extend in spiral fashion and interlock for the purpose of forming pumping chambers, and seal against the opposite displacement disk with their free face ends. The spirally extending ribs are embodied in several steps. The plurality of steps are spatially separated from each other by the formation of an space, and the radially outer step has at least twice as many pumping chambers as the radially inner step. Cooling means in the form of cooling ribs are preferably provided in the space, between the outlet of the radially outer step and the inlet of the radially inner step.

  • Patent number: 5324240
Abstract: In an eccentric gear in which the gear rim of a first orbiting cog wheel is in engagement with the gear rim of a second rotating cog wheel, the two gear rims are offset from each other by an eccentricity. The second cog wheel is fixed to a driven shaft seated in a fixed housing. At least three eccentric shafts, which are evenly spaced about the circumference of the cog wheel, are provided for guiding the orbiting cog wheel, the eccentrics of each shaft being seated in respective bores of the orbiting cog wheel. One of the three eccentric shafts extends through the housing wall on one side and is formed as the drive shaft. The three eccentric shafts are coupled via a slider orbiting with an eccentricity which is considerably greater compared with the drive eccentricity.

  • Patent number: 5154591
Abstract: A displacement machine for compressible media includes a stationary housing, and a plurality of disks mounted for eccentric movement within the housing. Each of the disks has two symmetrically disposed spiral displacement bodies that are offset from one another by substantially 180.degree. mounted on at least one side thereof so that the spiral displacement bodies move in an orbital fashion within the housing during operation. The disks are positioned with respect to one another such that each of the spiral displacement bodies intermeshes with another spiral distribution body to define pairs of cooperating spiral displacement bodies. The spiral displacement bodies have a curvature that is dimensioned such that opposed surfaces of cooperating spiral displacement bodies substantially contact one another at at least one sealing line that progresses continuously during operation.

  • Patent number: 5082430
Abstract: A rotating sprial charger for compressible media is disclosed having a housing in which two symmetrically constructed displacer disks are located and rotated by drive elements. The two displacer disks are provided on one side with helical ribs. To form a conveying space, the ribs engage each other and seal with their free frontal sides against the opposing displacer disk. To increase the strength of the ribs, a reinforcement is provided on the outer periphery of the ribs. The reinforcement is located on the outer wall of the rib and extends over the entire axial length of the ribs. The reinforcement also extends in the peripheral direction from the end of each rib on the inlet side to the end on the inlet side of the rib following in the peripheral direction.

  • Patent number: 4715797
Abstract: In a rotary-piston displacement machine, as is suitable, for example, for supercharging internal combustion engines, having at least two spiral-like delivery chambers in a stationary housing and spiral-like displacers engaging therein which execute a circulating, torsion-free movement with respect to the delivery chambers, the displacers are arranged on an eccentrically driven, disk-shaped rotor. The rotor is driven via a shaft centrally arranged in the inside of the housing. The two spirals run centro-symmetrically to one another in such a way that their suction-side ends are arranged around the drive bearings and at the same time cool the latter with fresh air. The air is delivered outwards from the inside of the housing, as a result of which heat dissipation of the outer housing parts during compression is provided for, which housing parts are provided with cooling ribs.

  • Patent number: 3989422
Abstract: A displacement machine for compressible media comprising a displacement compartment bounded by an inwardly situated spiral-shaped side wall and an outwardly situated spiral-shaped side wall, the displacement compartment describing a span angle which exceeds 360.degree. and extends from an inlet to an outlet. The displacement compartment is provided with a displacement element which carries out a circulatory movement relative to the displacement compartment and likewise possesses the shape of a spiral and has practically the same span angle as the displacement compartment. The displacement element, during the course of the circulatory movement, always contacts both the outer situated side wall and the inner situated side wall at least at one respective advancing contact line. A pole of a first section, spanning approximately 360.degree.
