  • Patent number: 7096902
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner includes a housing and at least one running roller operatively connected to the housing. The roller has a hub, a running ring, a wall connecting the running ring and the hub. The wall has two side surfaces and a curved cross-section between the running ring and the hub. The roller has at least one reinforcing rib extending at least from one of the two side surfaces of the wall and being in contact with neither the hub nor the running ring in a non-loaded state of the running roller. The roller forms an elastic caster with a nave and a bearing race. The nave and the bearing race are connected to another by an S or Z-shaped curved wall. Ribs are provided for reinforcing the wall or the nave.

  • Patent number: 6942078
Abstract: A cable reel makes possible a diversion of a braking pulse onto a housing by using elastic elements that mount the cable reel inside the housing, whereby the braking energy is converted into heat. The cable reel is, in particular, also suited for reel bodies that hold long cable lengths. In particular, the cable reel is used in a vacuum cleaner.

  • Patent number: 4896021
Abstract: A portable electric hair dryer wherein the housing contains an electric motor for an impeller which induces the flow of air from an inlet of the housing, along an electric heater in the housing and to and through an outlet of the housing. The casing of the motor is surrounded by a ring-shaped diffuser with stationary guide vanes which uniformize the flow of air toward the heater. The controls of the motor are mounted on a circuit board which carries one or more triacs, diodes and/or other electronic components which are heated when connected with a source of electrical energy and must be cooled when the hair dryer is in use. The heatable electronic component or components are mounted on an extension of the circuit board, and such extension is installed directly in the diffuser between two neighboring guide vanes. To this end, one of the guide vanes is removed or omitted and the electronic component or components take the place of the missing guide vane.

  • Patent number: 4532667
Abstract: The invention is directed to a replaceable brush assembly for a floor cleaning device such as an electric carpet sweeper. The cleaning device is equipped with a so-called central drive. Replaceable brush assemblies are pushed over respective ends of the output shaft. Each brush assembly is equipped with a tubular brush having a ring-shaped cavity disposed in surrounding relationship to a slot formed in the end face of the output shaft. An S-shaped spring has two arms connected to each other by a straight segment which seats in the slot of the shaft when the brush assembly is mounted on the shaft. The arms are resiliently biased against the wall of the ring-shaped cavity.
