  • Patent number: 5494479
Abstract: This invention provides an apparatus for deboning animal extremities, such as poultry wings. The apparatus comprises means for transporting the extremity; means for cutting the bones of said extremity in a direction transverse to their longitudinal axes; and means for removing bones from said extremity in the direction of said axes. The bones may be separated from the meat by retaining the meat while pulling or pushing the cut bones therefrom. For deboning poultry wings, the apparatus preferably comprises two cutting discs or blades that cut the wing on either side of the joint to allow the joint to be disposed and the remainder deboned by removing the bones therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5071388
Abstract: A method for deboning the extremities of poultry and an apparatus for performing this method serve to process extremities consisting of upper and lower arm or leg members, which members are joined by means of a central joint. The process includes the subsequent steps of severing the skin in the area of the outer condyle down to the bone, freeing the flanks in the area of the central joint, punching out the central joint and extracting the thus produced bone stumps whilst retaining the meat portion, whilst the apparatus comprises a conveyor including holding devices for receiving and holding the extremities to be treated, as well as means for performing these procedural steps.

  • Patent number: 4993114
Abstract: This method makes use of a row of tools arranged along a conveyor provided with receptacles for holding poultry bodies. The design of the tools is aimed at obtaining a high quality end product with a high yield. The processing of the poultry bodies advanced by the receptacles and reliably held therein successively takes place by controllable scrapers, which sever the connection between the outer fillets, on the one hand, and the coracoid bones, the ribs and possibly the inner fillets, on the other, by means of controllable paring knives, which detach the outer fillets from the wing joints and the wishbone, by means of a retaining device detaching the outer fillets in one piece in double fillet form and by means of a tool with scrapers, with the aid of which the inner fillets can be scraped from the skeleton, after the skin surrounding the same has been destroyed by means of a tool.

  • Patent number: 4811457
Abstract: A machine for processing objects, such as chicken leg parts or the like, includes a conveyor which has a plurality of displacement frames mounted thereon for displacement with the conveyor. Each of the displacement frames is equipped with a gripping device which grips a small portion of the object to be processed. A sawing or cutting device is arranged at an upstream portion of the trajectory of movement of the displacement frames and is operative for longitudinally cutting the respective object into two parts. An additional holding device including either oppositely located vertical nail plates or holding conveyors holds the object firmly at a cutting location, while a punch dissociates a cartilaginous joint of the object from the meat. Downstream of the additional holding device, there is arranged a spreading wedge which spreads the parts of the object apart until they break away from the zone of the object that is held by the gripping device.
