  • Patent number: 4198101
Abstract: A load-responsive brake-force regulator for a vehicular hydraulic brake system includes a balance beam having a variable point of support to determine the transmission ratio for the brake pressure, two rollers disposed in a cage to support the balance beam, an actuating tongue disposed between the two rollers and two compression springs between which the cage is disposed such that the cage is centered into the position determined by the actuating tongue.

  • Patent number: 4198099
Abstract: A braking pressure control unit for use on vehicles provides for dual-circuit braking of the rear axle. The braking pressure control unit comprises a braking force reducer including a stepped piston and a braking force limiter disposed coaxially and in series therewith. The closing member of the limiter bears directly against the stepped piston while the closing member of the reducer bears, in the rest position, against a stop independent of the limiter. As a result, the change-over point in one brake circuit will not change in the event of failure of the other brake circuit.

  • Patent number: 4174867
Abstract: There is disclosed a brake force regulator for a motorcycle hydraulic brake system wherein the pressure from a pedal-operated master cylinder is adapted to actuate a rear-wheel brake and a front-wheel brake, and the pressure from a hand-operated master cylinder is adapted to actuate another front-wheel brake. In this brake system, the brake force regulator provides for reduced supply of pressure to the rear-wheel brake dependent on the pressure from the hand-operated master cylinder when both master cylinders are actuated simultaneously. If only the hand-operated master cylinder is actuated, this will not have any effect on the rearwheel brake.

  • Patent number: 3949456
Abstract: A brake force distributor valve for limiting the brake pressure at the rear wheels of a vehicle when the load shifts to the front wheels during braking. The distributor valve includes a movable element which overcomes a spring to interrupt the flow to the rear wheel cylinders when the brake pressure exceeds a value determined by the preload on the spring. The spring abutment is fixed to the housing by shearing the surface of the material of one of the housing and abutment completely through at selected spaced locations about the periphery thereof and forcing the sheared material into a peripheral groove contained in the other of the housing and abutment while a predetermined force is applied to the spring to establish the spring preload and, hence, the response point of the valve.
