  • Patent number: 6345952
Abstract: A steam turbine has a turbine shaft directed along a turbine axis. A plurality of turbine stages, each include a guide-blade structure and a moving-blade configuration located axially downstream of the guide-blade structure. The guide-blade structure and the moving-blade configuration are provided along the turbine shaft. Each stage has an average reaction degree achievable between 5% and 70%. The reaction degree of at least two turbine stages is of different values.

  • Patent number: 6102654
Abstract: A turbomachine, especially a steam turbine, includes a casing, an inflow region formed at least in part by the casing for guiding working fluid, a feed for a cooling fluid, a rotating-blade carrier disposed in the casing and extending along a principal axis, and a shielding element disposed in the inflow region for shielding the rotating-blade carrier from the working fluid. The shielding element is attached to the casing by a mounting and the feed is guided through the mounting. A method is also provided for cooling one or more components of a turbomachine adjoining an inflow region for a hot working gas.

  • Patent number: 6092986
Abstract: A turbine plant, in particular a steam-turbine plant, includes at least two turbine sections, each having a turbine rotor extending along a main axis and an inner casing accommodating guide blades. At least one inner casing is displaceable in axial direction and a thermally expanding thrust element is provided for an axial displacement. The trust element has first and second expansion components connected to one another by a coupling component. The coupling component mechanically and/or hydraulically produces an axial displacement of the second expansion component which is greater than a thermal expansion and/or axial displacement of the first expansion component. A thrust element for reducing different axial expansions between two components expandable independently of one another along a main axis, is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6030176
Abstract: A structural member is provided for an exhaust-gas connection of a turbomachine, in particular a steam turbine, and a turbomachine bearing disposed in the exhaust-gas connection. The structural member is cast in one piece and has a connection part and/or a bearing part for accommodating the bearing as well as a supporting arm configuration with at least one supporting arm. A pipe conduit which is cast into the structural member leads through a connection part, a supporting arm and a bearing part. A set of at least two such structural members form an exhaust-gas connection and a frame for the bearing of the turbomachine.

  • Patent number: 6010302
Abstract: A turbine shaft, in particular for a combined high-pressure/intermediate-pressure steam turbine accommodated in a common casing and a method of cooling a turbine shaft of a steam turbine. The turbine shaft has a cooling line in its interior for guiding cooling steam. The cooling line is connected on one side to an outflow line and on the other side to an inflow line. Steam cooling of the turbine shaft of a combined high-pressure/intermediate-pressure steam turbine can thereby be achieved by feeding steam from the high-pressure part through the inflow line to the intermediate-pressure part and through the outflow line.

  • Patent number: 5954434
Abstract: A device for discharging a liquid lubricant from a bearing configuration for a shaft which rotates around an axis, in particular for a steam turbine. The bearing configuration has a bearing, upon which the lubricant acts and which mounts the shaft, at least one seal, which is adjacent to the bearing and encircles the shaft, and a collecting chamber which is assigned to a first end of the bearing and encircles the shaft. The lubricant that escapes at the first end can be intercepted and channeled away by way of the collecting chamber. A lubricant sump chamber is provided geodetically beneath the bearing and is connected to a lubricant outflow. The collecting chamber has a deflection duct that extends through the lubricant sump chamber and is intended for channeling away the lubricant into the lubricant outflow. There is also taught a process for discharging a liquid lubricant from the bearing configuration.
