Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the production of cyanamide from urea and/or decomposition products thereof at an elevated temperature with the use of a microporous catalyst, wherein, as catalyst, there is used a zeolite and/or a silicoalumophosphate which is doped with transition metal cations selected from the Group IB and VIIB of the Periodic System. In this way, it is possible to increase the conversion, referred to urea, to 60 to 100%, the selectivity with regard to cyanamide thereby being from about 30 to 50% and with regard to the undesired melamine being .ltoreq.2%.

Abstract: The present invention provides a process for reducing the emission of sulphur dioxide and/or of oxides of nitrogen in combustion processes, wherein hydrate calcium cyanamide is used as additive, degrees of denitration of 40 to 50% and degrees of desulphurization of 70 to 80% thereby being achieved.

Abstract: Improved desulfurization of ferrous melts is obtained by injecting into the melt a readily-flowable desulfurization composition composed of a desulfurization agent, such as calcium carbide or the like and, if desired, an additional component in which the particles are finely ground with about 3 to 20% by weight of carbon for at least about five minutes to coat the particles with a solid, lubricating coating of carbon.
