  • Patent number: 4712056
Abstract: A signalling circuit which outputs reference potential at either a first or second output, dependent on an input signal. The signalling circuit operates reliably in a large range of operating voltage with an optimally low power consumption. A constant current circuit and a parallel connection of two current paths fed by constant current are provided in a circuit connected to an operating voltage source. The first and second outputs are respectively connected to reference potential via respective electronic switches controllable by the current of the respective current path. The constant current is switchable from one current path to the other and vice versa, dependent upon the input criteria.

  • Patent number: 4594541
Abstract: A switching regulator comprises an electronic switch which can be periodically switched on at prescribed turn-on times with the assistance of a clock generator and can be switched off at a time defined with the assistance of a comparator, whereby the comparator compares an actuating signal to a saw-tooth comparison voltage. Such a switching regulator should operate continuously and accurately given low output powers and at the same time have a stable behavior in the entire control range. To this end, a non-linear chronological progression of the comparison voltage that the chronological change of the comparison voltage decreases in a time segment following the turn-off time. The switching regulator can be employed with particular advantage for the feed of temperature-controlled Peltier elements which serve for cooling laser diodes.

  • Patent number: 4177389
Abstract: A power supply system is disclosed having two regulated power supply devices with outputs connected in parallel for redundant half-load operation. Each power supply device has a voltage regulator and a current regulator with outputs connected in parallel to a switching transistor which provides regulation. A discriminator and transfer switch in each power supply device compares sensed load currents in both the power supply devices and switches the power supply device from current regulation to voltage regulation or vice-versa. By use of the transfer switch and discriminator, an active, reaction-free load take over in the case of a failure of one of the power supply devices operating in a voltage regulation mode may be accomplished. The other power supply device is then switched from a current regulation mode to a voltage regulation mode so as to take over from the power supply device which has failed.

  • Patent number: 4156895
Abstract: A flow through converter utilizing a transistor as the switching element with its collector emitter path connected in parallel with a capacitor and a transformer which is arranged in the power circuit and the output winding which is connected to a rectifier diode in the series arm and to a free diode in the shunt arm and with a second switching transistor connected in parallel with the adjusting transistors so as to prevent overload on the first transistor.
