Heinrich Sommer has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20180319099
Abstract: Method for manufacturing a component, in particular for a motor vehicle, in which a nonwoven is provided with strip-shaped plastic materials by way of 3D printing, and the strip-shaped plastic bodies applied by way of 3D printing are subsequently pressed into the nonwoven while supplying heat and pressure. The strip-shaped plastic bodies can be reinforcing ribs. The strip-shaped plastic bodies can be applied in the regions of the nonwoven where increased component stresses occur during later use. The strip-shaped plastic bodies applied can be thermoplastic material, fiber-reinforced thermoplastic material or thermoset material.

  • Publication number: 20060186374
Abstract: The invention relates to a prepolymer composition particularly for the production of insulating foams to be delivered from pressure packs, with a prepolymer component comprising a prepolymer with silane groups for cross-linking the prepolymer with a second component and containing customary additives, and a propellant gas component which is liquid under the pressure prevailing in the pressure pack and which is at least partially dissolved in the prepolymer component, with the propellant gas component having a log PO/W value of ?1.90 where PO/W denotes the distribution coefficient of the propellant gas component in octanol/water, as well as the use of a propellant gas mixture having a log PO/W value of ?1.90 for the production of insulating foams made of prepolymers containing polar reactive groups in pressure packs.

  • Patent number: 7029609
Abstract: The invention relates to a composition which can be foamed from pressurized containers. Said composition is based on an aqueous plastic dispersion containing an aqueous dispersion of at least one film-forming plastic material consisting of 30% to 80% by weight of a film-forming plastic material, a propellant gas amounting between 3% to 25% by weight in relation to the entire composition and one or more ionic foam stabilizers amounting between 0.3 and 6% by weight in relation to the entire composition. The foamed compositions can he used as scaling, damping and insulating materials.

  • Patent number: 6340715
Abstract: The invention provides a pressurized container for providing insulating foams including a foamable composition adapted for delivery from pressure cans and on the basis of an aqueous plastic dispersion, which comprises an aqueous dispersion of at least one film forming plastic with a content of 30 to 80% by weight of film forming aqueous plastic dispersion, a blowing gas in an amount equal to 3 to 25% of the weight of the total composition, and at least one anionic foam stabilizer for stabilizing the foams and emulsifying the blowing gas in the aqueous plastic dispersion in an amount equal to 0.3 to 6% of the weight of the total composition. The foamed compositions are able to be employed as sealing, caulking and insulating materials.

  • Patent number: 5101708
Abstract: A weapons system has a stationary base and an assembly that has the tube mounted on it, that pivots in the direction of elevation, and that is mounted on a trunnion in a stationary base. The center of gravity of the pivoting assembly is outside the axis of rotation of the trunnion. A torque that opposes the moment of unbalance is generated by at least one suspension mechanism consisting of at least one torsion-bar suspension mechanism, one end of which is non-rotationally secured to the base and the other end of which is secured to the weapon's pivoting assembly by way of a transmission mechanism. The transmission mechanism contains at least one additional suspension element.
