  • Patent number: 4797008
Abstract: A bearing utilizing a plurality of wires has the races for the roller bodies provides individual lining strips between each wire and the groove walls of the receiving structural members of the bearing. These lining strips are braced in two mutually perpendicular directions against two mutually perpendicular countersurfaces of the grooves and a yieldable connection can be provided between the pair of lining strips in one or both of the grooves so that the bearing prestress and play can be adjusted.

  • Patent number: 4273088
Abstract: An apparatus for setting the angular relationship between rotating driving, and driven members in the injection pump drive of an internal combustion engine. The driving member and the driven member have a toothed portion of which at least one is a helical toothed portion, whereby the toothed portions are coupled to each other by a coupler member having toothed portions which mesh with the toothed portions of the driving and driven members. At least one of the toothed portions of the coupler member is configured as a helical portion and is hydraulically displaceable with respect to the other toothed portions. This hydraulic displacement is controlled by a centrifugal governor having flyweights. The flyweights displace a valve member against the force of at least one spring in an rpm-dependent manner to effect the rpm-dependent adjustment of the instant of injection. In addition to the rpm-dependent displacement, a load-dependant displaceability, can be superimposed.

  • Patent number: 4085724
Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel regulator for internal combustion engines provided with a fuel injection system and with an adjusting member that operates preferably in dependence on the rpm, which moves the control rod of the fuel metering system via an intermediate lever. The intermediate lever is mounted on the pin of a bell-crank and effects an independent movement of the fuel control rod. The controller further includes a correcting device through which the position of the pin and thus the position of the fuel control rod can be changed independently and as a function of at least one operational variable, preferably the atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 3981634
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines including a cylinder bushing and a mounting flange fastened thereto. The mounting flange mounts the cylinder bushing to a pump housing and includes an adjustment tool engaging portion. This adjustment tool engaging portion extends transversely outwardly from the longitudinal axis of the cylinder bushing to a greater extent than does the location of the bolts which mount the flange to the pump housing. The cylinder bushing is received within the pump housing so that it can be rotated by the adjustment tool within a limited angular region for effecting a basic setting of the fuel quantity supplied by the pump.

  • Patent number: 3963014
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines includes a housing, which defines an elongated chamber, within which serial pumps including, in respective cylinders, pump pistons driven by a cam shaft via respective cams. The elongated chamber is closed by a single cover. A seal is provided between the cover and the housing by an O-ring tightened between an offset provided on the circumference of the cover and an inwardly facing wall of the housing. The offset provided on the circumference of the housing is so shaped, along its surface facing the inwardly facing wall of the housing that the O-ring is primarily stressed axially, with respect to the direction of fastening of the cover, along two sections which extend in the longitudinal direction of the cover and that the O-ring is primarily stressed radially in the region of the housing adjacent to end walls of the housing.

  • Patent number: 3952220
Abstract: A rpm measuring apparatus includes a rpm signal generator having a magnetic circuit composed of a toothed disc, driven by a drive shaft, and a yoke carrying an induction coil. At least one portion of the yoke opposite the toothed disc is also provided with teeth. At least one damper having a rpm-dependent damping characteristic is operatively associated with the drive shaft and disposed on the toothed disc.

  • Patent number: 3946715
Abstract: In a centrifugal rpm regulator for fuel injected internal combustion engines, a fuel quantity control rod is provided which receives the forces associated with the displacements of an adapter sleeve which, in turn, is displaceable under the influence of centrifugal flyweights and as a function of engine rpm. The regulator also includes an idling control spring, a maximum rpm control spring and an adapter stop having an adaptation spring, with the adapter sleeve comprising two mutually coaxially disposed portions and an intermediate spring therebetween. The pretension force of the intermediate spring is greater than the maximum force of the idling control spring and the pretension force and spring stiffness of the intermediate spring are smaller than the pretension force and spring stiffness of the adaptation spring.

  • Patent number: 3946590
Abstract: An apparatus for adjusting the delivery quantity on multi-cylinder fuel injection pumps including a drive unit and a clamping means for the injection pump in the form of an in-line pump. The pump pistons are provided with at least one control edge and are axially arranged and rotatably guided in cylinder barrels. Each piston is held in its fitting position, at least indirectly, by a flange. A mechanically activatable adjusting tool is mounted in the apparatus and operatively arranged to be driven via a control gear. The tool is force lockingly connected to an application point or engagement point on the securing flange of the injection pump or to a transmission element coupled to the securing flange or the cylinder barrel. A servo motor, preferably a stepping motor, is used to drive a control gear which effects movement of the tool.
