    Abstract: An x-ray tube for computer tomography (CT) has a cathode for generating an electron beam, a rotating anode having an incident area onto which the electron beam is incident in a focal spot, and a deflection system for deflecting the electron beam, dependent on an electrical deflection signal, in a deflection direction intersecting the circumferential direction of the rotating anode, such that the focal spot periodically moves from an initial position into a final position once during once per scanning position.
