Abstract: A high rotational speed vacuum pump (10) includes a compressor (12), a drive motor (14) for driving said compressor (12), and a motor control unit (16) for operating said drive motor (14) at a constant nominal rotational frequency. Depending on the basic conditions, undesirably strong oscillations may occur at the compressor (12) during compressor operation at the nominal rotational frequency. These undesirably strong oscillations cause the bearings to be excessively stressed. To reduce the oscillation stress of the compressor and/or the vacuum pump, an activatable rotational frequency correction device (18) is associated with the motor control unit (16). The correction device constantly corrects the nominal frequency by a rotational frequency correction value of max. 10% of the nominal rotational frequency when the rotational frequency correction device (18) is activated.

Abstract: A lying surface for a bed, especially for a healthcare and/or hospital bed, comprises support elements (22) and at least one electro-mechanic lifting unit (20) for lifting and lowering one of the support elements (22) relative to a bearing element (62) of the support element (22). The at least one lifting unit (20) comprises a housing (24) with an electromotor (32) having a drive shaft (34), a transmission (38) and a lifting member (50) supported at the bearing element (62) of said one support element (22). The lifting member (50) is adapted to be rotated by the transmission (38) and to be moved both up and down during a rotary movement of 360°.

Abstract: The bed (10) is provided with a height-adjustable lower frame (14) comprising a plurality of supporting legs (16) and with an upper frame (12) connected with said lower frame. Each supporting leg (16) comprises at its lower end (38) a swivelling and/or guide roller (40) which is received by the supporting leg (16) and is enclosed by a supporting edge (52) of the supporting leg (16) at the lower end (38) of the latter. Said roller (40) is retained by a retaining element (42,44) which is displaceably guided along the supporting leg (16) for the purpose of moving the roller (40) out of the lower end (38) of the supporting leg (16) beyond the supporting edge (52) of the latter and into the lower end (38) of the supporting leg (16). A lifting means (56) is movable out of the upper end (68) of the supporting leg (16) and into the upper end (68) of the supporting leg (16), said lifting means (56) comprising a fastening element (76) which is connected with the upper frame (12).

Further, a lying surface (46) having two longitudinal edges (48) extending between the head element (22) and the foot element (24), and at least one safety side element (52; 54) are provided, the at least one safety side element (52; 54) being slidable, beneath the lying surface (46), in a pull-out plane between an insert position and a maximum pull-out position. The at least one safety side element (52; 54) remains extending in the pull-out plane in any intermediate position between insert position and the maximum pull-out position.
