  • Publication number: 20090068940
Abstract: The invention relates to a closing screen for a ventilation opening, in particular for a ventilation opening for a motor vehicle, comprising at least one molded part (1) for fastening to the ventilation opening and at least one ventilation flap (6, 7), which closes an opening (4) embodied in the molded part (1) and which automatically allows for an air escape from the space via the opening (4) in response to an overpressure in an assigned space. To eliminate the appearance of annoying rattling noises during operation in such a closing screen and to enable a cost-efficient production of the closing screen, the molded part (1) and the at least one ventilation flap (6, 7) according to the invention are made of flexible, closed-cell foam, wherein the at least one ventilation flap (6, 7) is connected to the molded part (1) by means of a material connection or integrally.

  • Publication number: 20070122568
Abstract: The invention relates to an acoustically effective heat shield, particularly for motor vehicles, having at least two metal foils, particularly aluminium foils, each of which has a plurality of knob-like embossed points, at least one of the metal foils being perforated. The perforated metal foil has a plurality of holes with an average hole diameter in the range from 0.05 to 0.9 mm. The holes are configured in the metal foil in a density of at least 15 holes per cm2 and the perforated metal foil is provided on one side with an adhesive layer that can be heat-activated above 120° C. and that is correspondingly perforated. The metal foils, which have a thickness in the range from 50 to 200 Am, form a self-supporting composite. In particular, this self-supporting composite may be made up of not more than three adhesive-coated metal foils. In one variant, the self-supporting composite is made from two metal foils and an interposed layer made from a sound-absorbing material.

  • Publication number: 20060118355
Abstract: The invention relates to a sound absorber, in particular for motor vehicles, and to a method for producing the same. It is the object of the invention to provide an acoustically effective component for motor vehicles, which component not only provides a good sound absorbing effect but also good temperature resistance and good ability to recover or right itself after being subjected to compression. To meet this object, a sound absorber is proposed that is made from an open-pore moulded part (7) made from cork particles and a heat-reactive binder, wherein the percentage of binder in the moulded part (7) is at most 1 to 20% by weight. According to the invention the sound absorber is produced in such a way that the cork particles with the heat-reactive binder are placed in a hollow space (4) of a moulding tool designed in the manner of an injection moulding tool. Hardening of the binder is preferably triggered by the binder being subjected to water vapour (20) in the hollow space (4) of the moulding tool (1).

  • Patent number: 6951263
Abstract: A sound absorber (A), especially for motor vehicles, comprising a layer (4) of absorption material, such as open-pored or optionally closed pored foamed material or a wood fiber composite, and a top layer (5) . The aim of the invention is to produce an absorber in such a way that said absorber is easy to produce and assemble and functions well. According to the invention, the top layer (5) for leading through a loom of cables (8) or the like is provided with a tubular recess (40) for leading through a loom of cables. Said recess (4) is provided with groove-like undercuts (42) on the outside.

  • Patent number: 6619724
Abstract: Motor-vehicle door (1) comprising an outer wall (2) and an inner wall (3), a cladding part (4) mounted on the inner wall (3), and an insulation element (5) disposed between the inner wall (3) and the cladding part (4), the insulation element (5) being formed as a foam layer and being clamped in at its edge between the cladding part (4) and the inner wall (3) in a clamping region (K), wherein the insulation element (5) is secured in an adhesive-free manner between the cladding part (4) and the inner wall (3) in the clamping region (K), forming a positively locking profiling.
