  • Patent number: 4658271
Abstract: An electrooptical recording device for recording image information in an optical printer having a light source, an electrooptical switch and a recording medium and further including an electrode array having a plurality of central electrodes and associated external electrodes for controlling a plurality of N recording spots by half the number of driver stages. The recording spots are light sensitive and lie along a recording line and are exposed to the light source when a voltage is applied to a select pair of the electrodes deposited on the optically active material causing the electrooptical switch to change from an opaque to a transparent state. By controlling the operation of each pair of electrodes, the pattern of recording spots that are exposed is controlled.

  • Patent number: 4627687
Abstract: A positioning device comprising a bolt having a transducer and an optical waveguide fixed inside a guide sleeve mounted concentric with the longitudinal axis of the bolt. Supporting members on the bolt for the transducer and the guide sleeve are arranged in a spaced relation. The supporting member for the guide sleeve comprises a semi-cylindrical shell provided with an extended supporting arm on which the sleeve is mounted. A plate-shaped supporting member for the transducer is mounted in the shell. To achieve an improved separation of the heat-flow paths, slots are cut on opposite sides of the supporting arm into the shell.

  • Patent number: 4607917
Abstract: The disclosed invention relates to an electro-optical device for use with a facsimile printer, telecopier, etc., designed to accommodate line-at-a-time output of picture information with the aid of an electrically controllable electro-optical substrate made from a transparent electro-optical material, with the optical effect being controlled by applying a voltage between two control electrodes arranged next to each other on the substrate. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, within the area (4) of the substrate (1) to be controlled, and in addition to the control electrodes (2,3), there is provided at least one additional electrode (7) which may be common to several such areas (4), with each area (4) to be controlled having a corresponding opening (8) in the additional electrode (7) and the two control electrodes (2, 3) being spaced apart from each other on one side of the substrate (1) and the one or more additional electrodes (7) being arranged on the opposite side of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 4606267
Abstract: This invention relates to a page printer having an electro-thermal dot-matrix printing mechanism. The latter comprises at least one print plate which is disposed parallel in relation to the print line and radially in relation to the platen, which is hooked at both ends into a tensioning device. The print plate consists of a carrier plate made of material having relatively good electrical and heat-conducting properties. It is applied with its front surface to the thermo-sensitive recording medium on which recordings are made via a plurality of closely adjacent heating elements. These heating elements are deposited onto at least one of the lateral faces of the carrier plate, made flush with the front surface, and are conductively connected to the carrier plate. The remaining part of each of the lateral faces is covered, throughout the widths of the heating elements, with a layer of insulating material on which the conducting paths extending to the heating elements are disposed.
