Abstract: The invention relates to an aqueous dispersion which includes a mixture composed of the active ingredients carbendazime, 2-(thiocyanomethylthio)-benzothiazole and 2-methylthio-4-t-butyl-amino-6-cyclopropylamino-s-triazine. Further active ingredients with algicidal or fungicidal effect can optionally be present in the dispersion. The dispersion can be used for the fungicidal and algistatic finishing of paints, varnishes and plasters.

Abstract: A preservative, for compositions having an aqueous phase, comprisinga) 5 to 60% by weight of an organic acid selected from the group consisting of benzoic acid, 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, salicylic acid, formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, sorbic acid, undecylenic acid and dehydracetic acid or their mixtures including their sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, ammonium and ethanolamine saltsb) 10 to 95% by weight of alcohols of the general formulae I, II or III ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 denotes hydrogen, an n-alkyl, iso-alkyl or alkoxy radical having 1 to 3 C atoms, and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 denote hydrogen or a CH.sub.3 -- or C.sub.2 H.sub.5 -- radical and n has the value of 3 or 4, andc) 0.1 to 20% by weight of one or more poly(hexa-methylenebiguanide) salts of the general formula ##STR2## in which Z represents hydrochloride, acetate, lactate, benzoate, propionate, 4-hydroxybenzoate, sorbate or salicylate; and n has the value of 4 to 6, in combination in a customary carrier or solvent.

Abstract: A skin antiseptic and hand disinfectant composition is disclosed. The composition comprises a glycerol monoalkyl ether is a glycerol 1-C.sub.5 -C.sub.12 alkyl ether and an aliphatic C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl alcohol.

Abstract: The invention relates to a disinfectant concentrate which contains amine and alcohol wherein the alcohol component includes at least one glycol ether of limited miscibility with water and the amine component includes at least one secondary and/or tertiary alkyl amine free from hydroxyl groups. It also relates to a disinfectant producabile from the disinfectant concentrate, the use of the disinfectant concentrate and of the disinfectant as bactericide, in particular mycobactericide, fungicide or virucide.

Abstract: Deodorant compositions comprise glycerin monoalkyl ethers of the formula ##STR1## in which R is a branched or unbranched C.sub.6 -C.sub.18 alkyl in combination with other deodorant ingredients. Preferably R is C.sub.8 to C.sub.12 alkyl; more particularly, C.sub.8 alkyl; and most preferably, 2-ethylhexyl.

Abstract: Aqueous disinfectant concentrate which includes succinic dialdehyde, glutaraldehyde and/or formaldehyde, one or more alcohols of limited water miscibility and optionally usual auxiliaries. By diluting with water, a working solution can be prepared from the concentrate. The advantages of the new disinfectant concentrate or disinfectant are the reduced development of odor, an improved material compatibility, an improved microbicidal effectiveness and a clearly increased storage-stability. Furthermore, the activation usual up until now with disinfectants based on aldehyde is superfluous. Preferred application fields are surface and instrument disinfection.

Abstract: The invention relates to a disinfectant concentrate which includes amine and alcohol and is characterized in that the alcohol component includes at least one aromatic alcohol and the amine component includes at least one tertiary alkyl amine which is free of hydroxyl groups. It is also relates to a disinfectant which is preparable from the disinfectant concentrate, and to the use of the disinfectant concentrate or disinfectant as a bactericide, in particular a Mycobactericide, fungicide or virucide.

Abstract: The use of carboxylic acids for controlling mycobacteria is described. The carboxylic acids contain compounds with the general formula: ##STR1## in which A is a substituted or unsubstituted Cs-Clo aryl group, A containing no nitrogen atom,R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently of one other are hydrogen or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group,m is 0 or 1 andn is a number from 0 to 5,and no alkyl sulphonates or alkyl sulphates are present.Said active ingredients may be used in the form of aqueous and/or alcoholic ready-for-use solutions or may be present in the form of concentrates, powders or granular products or applied to a support such as a cloth. Formulations based on said carboxylic acids may also contain other bactericidal active ingredients, synergistic effects arising in some cases.

Abstract: The invention relates to a liquid preparation containing 1,2-benzoisothiazoline-3-one (BIT) and amines and optionally containing additional solvents and common additives, and containing as amine one or more amines having the general formula ##STR1## wherein R represents a straight-chained or branched alkyl or alkylene radical having 10 to 14 C atoms; n+m has a value of 4 to 12 and neither n nor m can be zero. The liquid composition, in an amount of at least 0.05 to 0.3% (by weight), can be used in products which contain water or can be diluted with water such as dispersions of synthetic materials, emulsion paints, adhesives, paper-coating materials, textile softening agents, sizing agents, surfactants, detergents, cleaning and polishing agents, spinning baths, coolants or metal working fluids, leather auxiliaries, and silicone and bitumen emulsions, as agent against material destruction caused by microbes.

Abstract: The invention relates to a disinfectant concentrate containing 10 to 60% by weight of phenoxyethanol or a phenoxypropanol mixture of 2-phenoxy-1-propanol and 1-phenoxy-2-propanol in a ratio by weight of from 1:4 to 1:20, 0.1 to 50% by weight of a cationic compound selected from the group of the guanidinium compounds, quaternary ammonium compounds or mixtures of these, 3 to 25% by weight of non-ionic surfactants and 0.1 to 10% by weight of an organic nitrogen-containing base having a pK.sub.B value of .gtoreq.4.75.

Abstract: A disinfecting tissue comprising an absorbent material having incorporated therein a disinfecting agent selected from (a) organic percarboxylic acids; (b) mixtures of a hydrogen peroxide donor with an organic carboxylic acid anhydride or a acyloxy-benzoic or -benzenesulfonic acid; and (c) a carboxylic acid amide; as defined in the specification.
