  • Patent number: 4980035
Abstract: The bath for electrolytic deposition of an Au-Cu-Zn alloy contains cyanide complexes of Au, of Cu and of Zn, a surface-active agent and a soluble Te and/or Bi salt. It may also contain a non-cyanide organic Zn complex, and a conductive salt and/or alkali metal or ammonium cyanide.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 17, 1989
Date of Patent: December 25, 1990
    Assignee: Engelhard Corporation
    Inventor: Heinz Emmenegger
  • Patent number: 4687557
Abstract: A galvanic bath for the electrolytic deposit of gold-based alloys contains a cyanide complex of gold, a cyanide complex of copper, a cyanide complex of cadmium and a cyanide complex of zinc, and at least one complexing agent and one surface-active agent, as well as, if desired, a depolarizing agent and/or an inorganic or organic brightening agent. This bath functions in the presence or in the absence of free cyanide.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 24, 1986
Date of Patent: August 18, 1987
    Inventor: Heinz Emmenegger
  • Patent number: 4486275
Abstract: A bath and method for electrodepositing gold-copper-cadmium alloys. The electroplating solution contains cadmium ions complexed by a soluble hydroxyalkyl diacetate complexing agent and, in addition, a brightener in the form of a phosphoric ester of a chain of ethylene oxides bonded to an alkyl group, and/or a surfactant in the form of one or a mixture of more than one amidopropyldimethylaminoxides of fatty acids.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 6, 1984
Date of Patent: December 4, 1984
