  • Patent number: 5618088
Abstract: In order to achieve an optimal pressure build-up function in an anti-lock braking control system for automotive vehicles and to maintain the pressure at the optimal point for long periods of time and thus achieve better brake deceleration with greater stability of travel and greater comfort than with conventional ABS control systems, the anti-lock braking control system includes, in addition to the ABS controller and monitoring circuit (3), a pressure function generator (4) which, for each wheel, intermediately stores an intermediate brake pressure value whenever wheel overbraking has been noted. Then, in the pressure build-up phase, the pressure function generator (4) gives off a signal to the pressure modulator in order to increase the wheel brake pressure in accordance with an exponential function.

  • Patent number: 5445443
Abstract: An antilock brake system for motorcycles, which ensures that after travel on a curve has been definitely recognized, a modified antilock brake system is activated which adjusts itself dynamically to the degree of tilt reached. The antilock brake system monitors travel on the curve and the degree of tilt with two acceleration sensors and supplements the monitoring circuit by an auxiliary circuit which causes the ABS control, through control signals, to maintain the braking pressure on the front wheel even before the anticipated lockup pressure is reached.

  • Patent number: 5386366
Abstract: A method for controlling the braking force of motorcycles, which includes storing the vehicle deceleration value which was measured when a lift-off signal occurred as an optimal deceleration limit value and reducing the braking force applied to the front brakes if the motorcycle deceleration approaches or exceeds this limit. A lift-off signal is generated if after a predetermined time from the initiation of a braking cycle, it is determined that the rear wheel has lost adherence to the grounds.

  • Patent number: 5344220
Abstract: An anti-lock system for motorcycles which includes a monitoring circuit (3) nd an overbraking preventer (4) which compares the front-wheel brake pressure continuously during the reloading phases with a pressure reference threshold and if the threshold is exceeded, with simultaneous exceeding of a high vehicle deceleration threshold, transmits a control signal to the monitoring circuit (3). The control signal results in the pressure modulator (1) only very slowly increasing the front wheel brake pressure.

  • Patent number: 5332301
Abstract: In order to avoid cyclic wheel overbraking in an anti-lock control system for automotive vehicles and nevertheless have assurance that each wheel is operated in optimal slippage regions for the longest possible periods of time so that, for instance, the physically maximum vehicle deceleration is obtained with high comfort control, an ABS controller (3) is provided with an additional internal auxiliary circuit (4) which, on basis of measured wheel decelerations and calculated vehicle reference decelerations superimposes, in a manner adapted to the physical circumstances, fine pressure modulations on the normal pressure modulations.

  • Patent number: 5324102
Abstract: In a method for regulating the braking force of motorcycles, the wheel circumferential speed is detected by sensors and evaluated by a microprocessor which gives a signal off to a pressure modulator if given limit values of deceleration are exceeded in positive or negative direction (locking signal) and if, within a predetermined period of time, a signal which symbolizes ground adherence of the rear wheel does not occur (lift-off signal), whereupon the pressure modulator reduces the pressure in the front brake circuit.
