  • Patent number: 4560320
Abstract: Ventilating unit comprising a housing to the front of which is fitted, preferably pivotably, a cover-flap. The front of the housing comprises a wall that closes off the interior in which a fan is arranged. Known ventilating units of this kind contain, inside, a plurality of components, more particularly a fan, insulating material, an actuator, etc. These components have hitherto been secured to the housing, and to each other, by means of screws or other attachment-elements, resulting in relatively high material and assembly costs. Furthermore, cleaning of the ventilating ducts, involving opening-up the unit, has been possible only by using trained personnel. In order to overcome this problem it is therefore suggested that the wall be built as an inspection-flap which is hinged to the front edge of the housing and is provided with means for locking it to the housing.

  • Patent number: 4558526
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement with a fan (12) for producing an air stream which can be heated by means of a heating element (14), with a housing (2) which has one or more air outlet openings (4) along its longitudinal axis, and with a control member (16), the openings (18) of which are associated with the air outlet openings (4) to regulate the air stream. So that such a device can be utilized in wet spaces, showerbath cubicles or the like and so that furthermore drying of the body is possible after a shower or bath, it is proposed according to the invention that the openings (18) of the control member (16) are arranged at a predetermined angle with respect to the longitudinal axis (6). Depending on the position of the control member (16), the air stream emerges from the air outlet openings (4) with substantially constant strength in a preselectable region along the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 4527364
Abstract: Corner assembly of a first and a second structural member disposed at an angle. Each member has an inner open ended chamber formed by spaced inner and outer webs of the members. A corner connector member has a first and a second leg snugly fitting into one of the chambers. The inner web of the first structural member has a pair of openings and the first leg has likewise a pair of openings which are in registry with the first openings transversely of the first leg. A pair of securing projections, solid with the inner web of the second structural member is formed with a pair of third openings. The securing projections extend through the first and second openings. The first leg has a fourth opening which extends lengthwise and in registry with the third opening. Locking bolts pass successively through the third openings and through the fourth openings, the latter being tapped so that the locking bolt threads therewith to secure the structural members and the connector member together to form the corner assembly.

  • Patent number: 4520608
Abstract: A structural assembly, more particularly for a shower partition, comprising a sectional rail having, in one of its outer surfaces, an undercut first channel of which the sides form two lateral grooves. Inserted into this channel, is a facing panel, a resilient connecting element being provided for retention and engagement in the grooves. In order to obtain a structural assembly of small depth, together with reliable and rapid attachment, the facing panel is provided with a longitudinal second channel extending in the direction of its longitudinal axis and undercut along the channel sides to form grooves. The connecting element is arranged at least partly in the second groove where it is held by the undercut second grooves. The connecting element has a lateral projection which extends into one of the first grooves of the sectional rail. Projecting into the other groove of the sectional rail is either a shoulder of the facing panel or a second lateral projection of the connecting element.

  • Patent number: 4512045
Abstract: Structural assembly, more particularly for a shower partition, comprising a door support in the form of a profiled rail having, in an outer face thereof, a first channel, of which one side flange forms a groove, and a facing panel mounted in this first channel. The facing panel is held in the first channel by a connecting element fitting in the groove. Existing arrangements of this type are relatively wide, of correspondingly large structural volume, and of high material costs. In order to obtain a structurally simple and inexpensive connection between the facing panel and the profiled rail, it is proposed that the panel be provided with a longitudinal second channel which opens towards the groove of the first channel. The connecting element engages partly in the second channel and partly in the groove.

  • Patent number: 4485730
Abstract: The invention relates to a ventilation unit in a frame or the like, the said unit comprising a flow-duct and a slide having a leg which opens and closes the said flow-duct, the said slide being adapted to move at least partly back and forth in the said flow-duct, a stop-surface being associated with the leg which possesses a sealing surface. A ventilating unit of this kind is fitted, for example, in a window-frame or an opening in a wall, the slide providing a satisfactory seal in the closed position, since a major energy loss would otherwise have to be feared. The ventilation unit is to be reliable in operation and to provide reliable sealing. In order to solve this problem, it is proposed that the slide be substantially U-shaped, a second leg having a sealing surface being provided in the flow-duct.

  • Patent number: 4448739
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for manufacturing multi-ply sheets of extrudable plastics material supplied by way of at least two webs which are produced by extruders having flat sheet dies and which are bonded to a structured insert web by means of rolls. Moreover, the invention relates to multi-ply sheets thus produced, especially for use with a shower enclosure. In manufacturing such multi-ply sheets it is difficult to obtain a reliable bond between the webs and the structured web without sophisticated machinery. There is also the requirement that the structured web be uniformly introduced between the webs. The invention proposes to feed these webs to a single common set of rolls and to arrange the flat sheet die of at least one extruder so close to a set of rolls that a reliable permanent bond to the structured web and/or at the other web is obtained by the heat accumulated and carried in the one web just extruded.

  • Patent number: 4386447
Abstract: A suspension device for a sliding wall panel of a sliding partition, in particular for humid rooms, having at least one roller adjustably mounted on the frame of the wall panel and capable of rolling in the installed state of the wall panel on a guide rail. At least one chamber is arranged in the frame, the chamber being open in the upward direction and housing an adjusting cylinder. The adjusting cylinder stands vertically and has an internal threading, which is engaged by a supporting element by means of external threads, the supporting element being secured against rotation and bearingly connected on top with the roller, so that the supporting element may be moved up and down by rotating the adjusting cylinder. An extension in the form of a pin is provided on the supporting element; it extends through and beyond the adjusting cylinder in the axial direction and engages a blind hole in the lower surface of the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4321715
Abstract: An arrangement for washing the lower parts of the body is arranged within the seat of a water closet. The seat (18) is hingedly mounted on a tank (20). Wash water is conveyed from the tank (20) to the seat (18) by means of a line (66) extending through the hinge joint gap (175), which is enclosed by the mutually facing frontal surfaces of the seat (18) and the tank (20). The line (66) is interrupted in the region of the hinge joint gap (175) and terminates on each side of the hinge joint gap (175) in a coupling device. The two coupling devices form a sealed fluid passage when the seat (18) is lowered.
