  • Patent number: 5614062
Abstract: A process for controlling the deposition of stickies from paper stock suspensions in papermaking involving the steps of: (a) providing a paper stock suspension containing stickies; and (b) contacting the stickies in the paper stock suspension with a native starch.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 6, 1995
Date of Patent: March 25, 1997
    Assignee: Henkel Kommanditgesellschaft auf Aktien
Inventors: Heinz-Guenther Schulte, Klaus Hornfeck, Dieter Kaps
  • Patent number: 5494565
Abstract: Workpieces of non-corrosion-resistant metals are provided with a wear-resistant, non-metallic layer of a nitride, carbide, boride, oxide or silicide of an element of the fourth to the sixth subgroup applied by PVD (physical vapor deposition) after a corrosion-resistant intermediate layer had been previously applied. An intermediate layer consisting of a copper-tin alloy with 45 to 80% copper, 10 to 55% tin and 0 to 15% zinc proved to be corrosion-resistant and noble and in addition does not cause any skin allergy.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 17, 1994
Date of Patent: February 27, 1996
    Assignee: Degussa Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Heinz-Guenther Schenzel, Thomas Engert
  • Patent number: 5474655
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for controlling the deposition of stickies from paper stock suspensions in papermaking. According to the invention, the deposition of stickies is controlled by addition of an effective quantity of a degradation product of native starch to the paper stock suspension.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 17, 1995
Date of Patent: December 12, 1995
    Assignee: Henkel Kommanditgesellschaft auf Aktien

  • Patent number: 5011934
Abstract: Imidazoles are alkylated at the 1-position by adding an alkyl halide a mixture comprising an imidazole, a non-reactive aromatic solvent and a base at temperature of from about 75.degree. C. to about 115.degree. C. and then maintaining the temperature for a period of time sufficient to produce the 1-alkylimidazole and then separating any inorganic material from the product.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 19, 1990
Date of Patent: April 30, 1991
    Assignee: Henkel Research Corporation
Inventors: Heinz-Guenther Schulte, Jeffrey L. Narum, Michael R. Johnson
  • Patent number: 4913969
Abstract: A process for improving the bonding of hotmelt materials which post crosslink in the presence of moisture, to water vapor impermeable substrates by applying an activator material, which release bound water at the hotmelt application temperature, to at least one of the water vapor impermeable substrates.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 20, 1988
Date of Patent: April 3, 1990
    Assignee: Henkel Kommanditgesellschaft auf Aktien

  • Patent number: 4640051
Abstract: The mechanism of the invention can be mounted on and in contact with a frame. A spindle (2) is disposed within a shallow strip-like housing (1) parallel to an edge of a glazed sash of a window or door and a slider (3) displaceable on rotation of the spindle (2) is mounted on the spindle in order to drive a latching and/or deployment device for the glazed sash. The spindle can be adjusted by means of a knob-like handle (4) which is drivingly connected with the spindle (2) via gears (5, 6). A safety coupling (15 to 23) which limits the maximum achievable positioning force is arranged inside the handle (4).

  • Patent number: 4489657
Abstract: A rocket propellant or rocket motor is provided with an insulating layer ween the fuel proper and the inner wall of the housing forming the combustion chamber. The insulating layer is made of a foamed synthetic material. The foaming insulating material is introduced into the housing under pressure after the solid fuel body has been centered in the housing with a spacing between the inner housing wall and the fuel body the front face of which is covered with a synthetic material film for the subsequent removal of the layer of foamed insulating material from the front face of the fuel body. In an alternative method the inner surface of the combustion chamber wall may be coated with a layer of foamed insulating material prior to the introduction of the fuel into the combustion chamber, said layer of foamed insulating material forming a tubular member.
