  • Patent number: 5447463
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for fine-working or microfinishing of workpiece surfaces, particularly rotationally-symmetrically moved workpieces with oscillating or rotating tools such as honing stones or fine polishing stones, which are in-fed against the workpiece. Dependent on a measured parameter proportional to the machining force, the tool infeed is controlled such that a continuous workpiece material remove with constant removal speed is achieved. The reaction force is measured at any point in the flux of force to determine the machining force.

    Filed: June 16, 1993
Date of Patent: September 5, 1995
Assignee: Supfina Maschinenfabrik Hentzen GmbH & Co. KG
    Inventor: Heinz G. Schmitz
  • Patent number: 5245793
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for fine-working or microfinishing of workpiece surfaces, particularly rotationally-symmetrically moved workpieces (38) with oscillating or rotating tools such as honing stones (18) or fine polishing stones, which are infed against the workpiece (38). Dependent on a measured parameter proportional to the machining force, the tool infeed is controlled such that a continuous workpiece material remove with constant removal speed is achieved. The reaction force is measured at any point in the flux of force to determine the machining force.

  • Patent number: 4827677
Abstract: A method is described for grinding plane-parallel circular annular faces on disk-shaped workpieces, in particular on brake disks of motor vehicle disk brakes, in which the workpieces have different grinding allowances, with respect to their set-point position, on their surfaces to be machined and are machined from both sides with side grinding wheels by the face grinding process, and in which the machining is effected in a plurality of phases at dissimilar feed speeds. The machining is effected in one method step at dissimilar feed speeds (v.sub.3, v.sub.3'), from the point (P.sub.2, P.sub.2'), of the first contact of the grinding wheel with the workpiece up to a point (P.sub.3) on which on both sides of the workpiece, the same remaining grinding allowance (s.sub.0) with respect to the set-point location of the faces to be machined, exists. The dissimilar feed speeds (v.sub.3 ; v.sub.3') are matched to one another such that the point (P.sub.3) at which the same remaining grinding allowance (s.sub.
