  • Patent number: 6369376
Abstract: A conveyor is described which includes, for example, a bucket wheel arranged on a jib for reducing especially compressed stockpiles or, respectively, for piling up bulk goods, conveyor is constructed so as to pick up or pile up piled-up bulk goods. The conveyor includes a measuring device for measuring the surface profile of the stockpile device. The conveyor is associated with a control device which is constructed so as to move the conveyor automatically to the desired removal or, respectively, piling-up position in dependence on the measured stockpile surface.

  • Patent number: 5157299
Abstract: A flat commutator is described with carbon segments, metal segment-supporting parts supporting these and a hub body of an electrically insulating moldable plastic compound, which supports the segment-supporting parts, a solder layer is provided lying between the two segments for the connection between the carbon segments and the segment-supporting parts. The side surfaces of directly adjacent carbon segment-supporting parts which are facing one another are covered completely by the moldable plastic compound of the hub body. The method for producing this commutator is also described wherein the segment-supporting parts are soldered together with an annular plate later forming the carbon segments before the hub body is fitted onto the segment-supporting parts. The intermediate spaces between the segment-supporting parts are filled with moldable plastic material. Not until after the fitting is the annular plate subdivided into the individual carbon segments.

  • Patent number: 4868440
Abstract: In a small to medium-sized commutator having segments which are circumferentially spaced from each other and are insulated from a hub, with at least one concentric annular groove in the body formed by the segments, in which groove a biased reinforcing ring is arranged. The body formed by the segments is free of arch compression at least in its dynamically and thermally unloaded condition. The segments, under a compression loading of the insulated or insulating hub and/or shaft, are acted upon radially with a compression force corresponding to the total biasing of all present reinforcing rings. In the manufacture of the commutator, each reinforcing ring is in its expanded condition when it is brought into the position provided in the annular groove. Thereafter, spacing elements used to position the segments are removed from the intermediate spaces between the segments.

  • Patent number: 4598463
Abstract: A commutator of the arch-thrust type and process for its production, wherein at least one annular slot is provided in its segment set which is located concentrically to the longitudinal axis of the commutator and into which an armoring ring is placed which is under tension. In order to be able to produce the commutator in a cost-effective manner in spite of a high dynamic and thermal load capability, the segments are provided with punches forming the annular slots. The boundary surface of the annular slot which serves as a support of the armoring ring defines a polygon and is maintaining the insulation using molded plastic or air between the segments which are separated by insulation material radial outwardly of the annular slot.

  • Patent number: 4562369
Abstract: A commutator includes a hub, a segment set having armoring and an inner cover surface, and insulation arranged between the hub and the segment set. The segment set is forcefittingly coupled with the hub by support forces directed toward its inner cover surface. The result of this arrangement is that the hub and the insulation are radially prestressed by tension forces caused by the armoring of the segment set.

  • Patent number: 4342933
Abstract: A commutator for electric machines is disclosed. The commutator comprises a cylindrical body of insulating material having a plurality of lamella segments affixed by means of projecting anchoring elements about the periphery thereof. Each lamella segment is provided at one end with a hook base and hook to the latter of which a coil wire is electrically and mechanically connected by welding. The insulating body has radially and axially projecting ribs which support the respective hook bases of the lamella segments. The width of each supporting rib and associated hook base gradually increases from a point adjacent the hook toward the transition from the hook base to the lamella segment to provide better support and heat conductivity during the process of welding the coil wire to the hook.
