  • Patent number: 7521035
Abstract: A method for the regeneration of residues containing sulphur is characterized in that a droplet stream containing fuel is introduced into the reactor simultaneously with the droplet stream containing the residue and is fed into a pre-reaction zone that is created by feeding in an oxygen-rich gas stream, whereby the residue in the pre-reaction zone is partially thermally cleaved and subsequently fed into the reaction zone.

    Inventors: Gerhard Grob, Heinz Gruning
  • Patent number: 6893255
Abstract: The aim of the invention is to produce a spray burner, starting from a conventional spray burner, for the atomisation and combustion of sulphur-containing residues, comprising a residue nozzle, for the introduction of sulphur-containing residue, which is surrounded by an outer nozzle, for the introduction of an atomising agent, whereby said burner is suitable for a method in which oxygen can be introduced in the cracking oven as additional oxidising agent to increase the capacity and improve the economic efficiency without the above disadvantages and limitations and is also optimised for a variable throughput of residue for atomising. Said aim is achieved whereby the residue nozzle comprises a multiplicity of individual nozzles which may be switched on and off, connected to an input for the residue, an inlet for fuel is provided and the outer nozzle is connected to an inlet for an oxygen-enriched gas stream.

  • Patent number: 4010628
Abstract: Improved method and apparatus for of making a profiled body of at least one band of material which is profiled by a series of successive forming steps by means of pairs of rotating forming tools. At least one directrix is determined on the band for some of the forming steps coinciding with a marked longitudinal edge of the body and subdividing the band into a first and second band area. Swinging the first area about the directrix in a first direction and simultaneously swinging the second area about the directrix in opposite direction to said first direction in order to reduce tensile stress in one of the exterior edges of the bands at the cost of increasement of tensile stress in the other exterior edge.

  • Patent number: 3979808
Abstract: A method of continuously processing two bands of material into profiled rails, inserting insulating material adjacent their lateral longitudinal borders, and then connecting their lateral longitudinal borders through the insulating material. Initial corrugations are formed in each of the bands, and the bands are simultaneously passed between rotating pairs of forming rolls. The initial corrugations formed in the bands are increased so that the length of each enveloping line of each part of each band is longer than the enveloping line contemplated for the corresponding part. The longitudinal border of one of the rails is provided with projections, and the border of the other rail is provided with openings. Finally, the longitudinal border provided with projections is bent around the other longitudinal border, and its projections are forced through the strip of insulating material into the openings of the other longitudinal border.
